💰Alaska Permanent Fund Corp Yesterday, the budget subcommittee for the Dept of Revenue rejected the proposal to consolidate APFC into one line item in the budget. I spoke in support of the rejection because the people need MORE transparency of APFC spending, not less.

HB 47 Generated AI CSAM passes the House with unanimous consent!

💰HB 315 requires APFC trustees be RESIDENTS of Alaska and be CONFIRMED by the Legislature. More than HALF of the revenue in the state budget comes from earrings of the Alaska Permanent Fund. Don’t you think the board members who oversee this fund receive legislative oversight?

ALL MONEY IS GREEN I voted in support of a full, statutory PFD drawn from the ERA. Unfortunately, this amendment failed. Alaskans need to know that a full, lawful PFD no longer has support by the vast majority of legislators.

Alaska pays investors a BILLION dollars a year to invest your resource wealth without legislative oversight, but House Finance Committee zeros out your PFD. Watched the electronic ID segment of house bill 180. Very weak bill and does nothing has zero teeth. Had zero false assumptions. I was dead on target. But if you would like we could talk about a bill that would actually provide us with some security and privacy protections. I’ve got plenty of working, H.B. 180 is not that…🤷‍♂️

🚨some Alaska elected state official recently talked to us about Digital ID’s…. Listen to this👂🙉👂 No names today because this isn’t about one person. I raised concerns about where we’re headed….. Digital ID, data consolidation, surveillance creep, and the quiet normalization of it all. The response wasn’t hostile. It wasn’t malicious. ❌It was worse.😵 They said basically… Tracking already exists. This is nothing new. We’ve always had systems like this. 😳 And that’s when it hit me. If our local representatives the people closest to the ground, closest to the communities, closest to the consequences see the status quo as the finish line, nothing will ever change. Not because they’re evil. Not because they want control. But because they can’t or won’t see the difference between what ➡️ exists and ➡️ what’s coming. There is a massive gap between fragmented, limited data systems of the past and the fully integrated, real-time, programmable surveillance architecture being built right now. This isn’t yesterday’s bureaucracy. This is👇 👉Centralized identity 👉Automated compliance 👉Interoperable databases 👉Public-private enforcement 👉Systems that don’t need intent, only triggers The most dangerous surveillance states in history didn’t arrive with jackboots. They arrived with paperwork, convenience, and people saying 😳This isn’t new.😳 If the people in charge believe that incremental expansion equals inevitability, they’ll never resist it. 🤷‍♂️They’ll manage it. 🤷‍♂️They’ll normalize it. 🤷‍♂️They’ll justify it. And that’s why we don’t just need representatives. We need thinkers. We need leaders with foresight. We need people who can tell the difference between 🤔Tracking vs. control 🤔Records vs. enforcement 🤔Tools vs. weapons Because the most advanced surveillance state ever known to mankind won’t announce itself. It will be defended as reasonable. Dismissed as already happening. And locked in place by leaders who mistook familiarity for safety. That’s the moment we’re in.
