One of the best decisions I’ve made is getting back in the gym. I lifted for 14 years: from the time I was 14 until 28. When my daughter died, I spent the next 10 years drinking, eating & numbing myself. Two years ago, I made the commitment to get back in shape. Now, instead of spending my Friday night drinking whiskey until I pass out, I’m spending it lifting with my 16-year-old. The point is - go lift. It’s never too late. And it makes life better. Life won’t get better until YOU make it better

My son came with me for a gig last night. 6 hours round trip in the car. We spent the entire time talking. Really enjoyed hearing his insights and thoughts. At the gig, he helped setup the PA system, backdrops and lighting. Then he went up to the other comedians, shook their hands, introduced himself and addressed them as sir. After the show, he helped breakdown the equipment, and on the way out, stopped and thanked the manager for having us. I’m so proud of the young man he’s becoming. After all these years of worrying if I was doing this dad thing right, last night showed me he’ll be just fine.
