#OTD in 1947, 'Babe Ruth Day' was celebrated throughout baseball. 58,000 came out to Yankee Stadium to honor the ailing legend and hear him promote baseball as "the only real game in the world." Here's my painting of that afternoon, based on the photography of William Jacobellis.
