idk when i first came out my mom spent a few years insisting that I was actually bisexual, because to her it meant that there was at least a chance i'd end up with a man. which was both lesbiphobic and biphobic.

@caitlin_hebron @crownedroi I think it really depends on wording and intent. You could say that non-bisexuals don't experience biphobia, but they definitely can experience the negative effects of biphobia. Like how the mom's biphobia negatively influences the way she views her daughter.

@crownedroi Guys, all I'm doing is clarifying what the person in the qrt meant. I'm not saying that monosexuals experience the same amount of biphobia as bisexuals or that monosexual is somehow an insult and not a descriptor of people who aren't multisexual. I said I agree with you!

@crownedroi I agree with you but they're talking about how bisexuals aren't the only ones who experience biphobia, because you said that "monosexual" describes people who don't experience biphobia. Kinda like how men can experience misogyny (how they are discouraged from "being feminine")

Transphobes love to say that trans people aren't valid because accepting them means you would have to accept cis people lying about their gender identity. But you could say this about literally any personal identity ever. How do I know a cis person isn't lying?
