On this day last week we were saddling four in the G1 Sydney Cup and it was a very special win by Explosive Jack who had been off the scene for a while! @KatyMowat There is a good podcast interview with John Messara where he basically says if a filly is good enuff to win a group 1 they are good enuff to breed with. I believe this enforces my own belief that Australia has the bloodlines to breed world class middle distance and stayers.

Yankee Rose was quite a cheap yearling purchase back in 2014 I believe. What’s the backstory? Was there a conformation issue? Was she deemed unfashionably bred? Her on track success was evidently a bit “rags to riches.” The Yoshidas seem to love that kind of mare!
