Question for @RijijuOffice, @KirenRijiju, @RamMNK, @MoCA_GoI : How is a post-ticket "differential airfare" of ₹10k+ being justified? Standard airlines don't charge extra once the PNR is generated. Don't hide behind "final settlement" clauses to burden pilgrims at the last minute. This lacks transparency! #Haj2026

The Haj Committee is demanding an additional ₹10,000 from Haj pilgrims as “differential airfare.” This is despite collecting ₹90,844 per pilgrim a couple of months ago departing from Mumbai Embarkation Point. This is almost DOUBLE the prevalent rates for individual travellers. Are pilgrims being punished for going through the Haj Committee? This is just exploitation and nothing else. Most pilgrims are not wealthy, they save money for years to be able to go to Haj. This is not a luxury for them. The circular must be withdrawn immediately, and the pilgrims must be refunded the money taken from them @kirenrijuju @RamMNK

STORY | Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet seek ATF price relief; say airline industry on verge of 'stopping operations' Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet have told the government that the country's airline industry is under extreme stress and on the verge of "stopping operations" as they sought revision in ATF pricing and financial support. The West Asia turmoil has pushed up oil prices, and airspace restrictions have increased airlines' operating costs, especially on long-haul routes. Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) accounts for around 40 per cent of a carrier's operational expenses. Against this backdrop, the Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) has written to the civil aviation ministry, seeking steps to extend the same fuel pricing mechanism uniformly across both domestic and international operations as was done in the past with the establishment of the crack band. With an unprecedented rise in jet fuel prices and an exorbitant crack/differential between crude and ATF, the federation said the operation of airlines is being challenged in totality. Petrol pumps across several parts of Hyderabad ran dry for the second time in as many months on Monday, April 27, with "no stock" boards appearing at stations in Alwal, Trimulgherry, Rajendranagar, Nampally, Mehdipatnam and parts of the Old City, a problem that quietly started on Saturday night. Long queues were reported wherever fuel remained available, with commuters saying they had to travel across neighbourhoods to find an open pump. At least one commuter reported purchasing petrol in the black market at nearly double the regular price – half a litre for Rs 100. Retailers at affected stations said the closures were due to supply-related issues, with no clarity on when the next delivery would arrive. Commuters expressed frustration, with one person travelling from Langar Houz to Asif Nagar in search of fuel, saying he needed to reach a hospital. Another, who had come from Mangalhaat, said he had been standing with his motorcycle in the sun amid a heatwave. "My entire work and pay is based on travelling," he said. The disruption comes amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict, which has led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation on Sunday, April 26, reiterated that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol or diesel in the state, and urged the public not to be misled by rumours. Oil Marketing Companies operating in Telangana also said supplies remain adequate.
