@SomeLazyDev @lporiginalg there are some on the far left too, which initially shocked me given the usual reputation of the far left. so yes, i may be unfairly attributing some names to the right. its also easy to forget that this is a global media and not just a USA presence

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg They'll talk about how failed the vietnam war was. Then I'll bring up South Korea as a counter. Which is a similar situation with a positive outcome. I just try to talk it out and spread information but more importantly I try to share a better way of navigating disagreement.

@SomeLazyDev @lporiginalg as far as what can you do goes, well obviously you cant ever please everyone, thats life. and for the occasional outlier, who cares. but it certainly doesnt hurt to try to lessen that bias while you can, if not for you, then for your children

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg I just try to speak a counter narrative. I talk about the good things the west have done. Like they say settlers genocided the natives, but that isnt true. 90% of them died from disease, and it wasn't intentional. Just a lack of immunity to them. It was trajedy, not planned.

Or getting hit by a car while riding your bike. I get it, it's a difficult situation for innocent jews. Rhetoric online. But youre relatively safe

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg Well maybe some data might reassure you. Jews are only 2% of the population, at like 7 million. There's been a total of 12,000 hate crimes against them in US history, which is like 70% of all religion hate crimes.

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg I appreciate that. I do feel that I'm fairly moderate. Or centrist. I'm a nationalist in that I'm a patriot, but independent politically. I'm against abortion as birth control, but want free healthcare. I'll look into the quanon extremists, but I see a lot on the far left too.

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg This one definitely isn't sarcasm. It is a blatant criticism of Judaism. I just wouldn't take it personally. It is generalizing, but we all know its not all jews. Genetically especially. We all have ancestral baggage to deal with.

@SomeLazyDev @lporiginalg second holocaust? no. But even some isolated attacks can lead to serious harm. It only takes one. And to an even lesser scale, living with constant bigotry against you, even if nothing violent results, isnt exactly great either

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg Yeah anecdotal isn't great evidence. I try not to use it. That's why I reference statistics. But yeah, if we keep immigration mild and only allow in those who intend to assimilate to our culture, they should adopt christian values like separation of church and state.

@SomeLazyDev @lporiginalg and yet broke the own laws of their religion quite often and didnt actually seem to have much actual faith. Again, just anecdotal, but from what ive seen online and beyond college, seems to be relatively frequent

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg Yeah, hypothetical means concerns for what could happen in the future. It's like guessing. But AIPAC exists. The corruption and capture of industries like hollywood exists. The blackmail schemes and backroom dealing exists. Israel exists. Christian nationalist terrorists dont.

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg It's true. Even when poor people have access to modern amenities. It's easier to provide for people without the labor of others, more automation. Our culture is more modern when solving our problems. It's like ppl saying we're going to have a civil war for twitter arguments.

@jromer54673940 @lporiginalg True. Good jews exist. The culture just produces people who aren't as supportive of western values as christian culture does. Because christian culture is dominant in the west since like 400 AD. The holocaust doesn't grant jews immunity from criticism or accountibility.

@SomeLazyDev @lporiginalg I think we are just forgetting that 7 million is a large number. And that even if jews were responsible entirely, that "responsible" group may be no more then 1% of jews that live in the US. hence why my anecdotal experience contradicts it everyday people who are jews exists
