Raised hundreds of millions for his campaign.
Won the primary with little challenge & voted in as the candidate.
Repeatedly said he was the best candidate to defeat Trump, even recently.
Had surrogates on TV just a day or two ago saying he was in it to win it.
And now .. dropped out of a race he said he would not drop out of (absent a medical condition)
