@aparachick It’s such a slap in the face to the Disabled + Conscious communities when minimizers and deniers refer to the pandemic in the past sense. They’re clearly ignorant about the wastewater data, which unambiguously states the pandemic is still raging.

@DrMarjorieRobe1 Maskers on social media continually attest to having superior healthfulness and quality of life. Anti-maskers fall ill a half dozen times per year and are in perpetual jeopardy of becoming a Long Covid victim. No contest between which camp is winning the game of life.

@keetmuise If they’re not going to do the sensible thing and mandate respirators for K-12 and Universities, distance or hybrid learning is crucial. Making physical attendance this consequential is just going to make students subject to repeat Covid infections. Outrageous.

@clcisme By definition, you’re not an actual Long Covid expert if you’re not masked in a respirator at all times in public. The second you post an unmasked selfie at a hockey game, your credibility on the matter is forever gone and never returning. You only get one shot.

I don’t gaf what your credentials are, if you’re an “expert” speaking in public about LC, I’m tuning out once I notice that you’re not masked. Full stop.

@JamesSheph96979 Wearing a mask is something you can do today that will have an immediate, beneficial impact on your community. It’s one of the foremost, Instant Gratification measures you can take to make the world a better place.

@ModelAyshaMirza It’s disturbing how many transparently sick people you encounter in public. All the more incentive to mask. These people have no respect for your air.

@drseanmullen If you look at archival footage of Americans in the ‘50s, it’s clear that the absence of Covid was the primary thing that empowered them to be shining beacons of physical and mental fitness.

You don’t need a study to know something’s off. Look around: • more fatigue • more brain fog • more “random” illness We normalized dysfunction. That’s the real problem.

@Isucceed **EVERYONE** needs to do it, to get Covid under control. But they won’t, because of vanity and outdated concepts of “normalcy.” Normalcy died forever in 2020, and society keeps trying in vain to reanimate its corpse.

The **ONLY** way to avoid long COVID is to avoid getting infected. The most reliable way to do that is consistently wearing N95 respirator in **ALL** shared-air spaces. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

@oxbits We obviously needed to re-implement lockdowns and mask mandates but our so-called leaders lacked the political will. A respirator mandate in all spaces of communal air really could turn the tide.

the COVID pandemic is ongoing and people continue to die and become disabled from Long COVID to learn from our mistakes means changing what we are currently doing to prevent further harm we must stop letting it rip

The news agenda is saturated with Trump, Artemis and wars, so it's buried on page 10 but Ontario is just coming out of a major COVID wave. You've likely heard about friends and family who are sick. It's COVID. WEAR. A. MASK. IN. ALL. PUBLIC. PLACES. If you'd rather avoid getting sick. It's that simple.

@JeromeAdamsMD There still hasn’t been a reckoning for the irreparable damage that was caused when we dropped mitigation measures. We had the right idea but we couldn’t stick to it for the required period of time. And we couldn’t let certain practices die because of hollow economic reasons.

But, ya know, we "jumped to conclusions". Sometimes, things are super obvious and we CAN trust our eyes. We know what "additional concerns" means. It's code speak for "how do we get out of this and limit the damage to our sports brand". I see some people mad that Vrabel is not having his ethics questioned as a coach. That's totally fair. On almost any other team, I think his job might be in question. But not the Pats...(or the Cowboys). 😏 Also, I would push back and say it's the reporter's job not to cross these professionally ethical lines. Whether the reporter is male or female is irrelevant to the base of the issue here. A coach WANTS favorable coverage and using a reporter to push their narratives out there is a way to do that. It's your job as a reporter to resist letting them do that thru a romantic relationship or otherwise. We do have free will in life. I've seen shades of this on the entertainment side as well. "Reporters" who cozy up to the studios or the creatives to get stories to advance their careers. OR who willingly allow themelves to be meat puppets for the creatives and studios to push their narratives out there in exchange for getting social media attention. Again, it's a reporter's job to resist that shit if they want to be seen as objective or, God forbid, ethical.

@possumpraxis That’s the only downside of masking: you’re more susceptible to illness if you’re forced to unmask in high traffic areas. You build up a reservoir of health and safety when you mask at all times when outside the homes. It has to be maintained. It’s truly an unyielding commitment.

Had to be unmasked for a super long time for a procedure at the hospital. Saw dozens of staff at this huuuge hospital and only one was wearing a surgical mask. No one even masked in the procedure room. Please send any not-catching-anything vibes my way!!

@_EarnieBanks It’s irresponsible that these people are getting sick. The mitigation measures to circumvent that have been well established. Though I don’t know how much healthfulness any of them deserve when their livelihood revolves around spreading illness with mass superspreader gatherings.
