My top two Defensman I would love the Leafs to draft (if they get top 5) have to be Keaton Verhoeff and Alberts Smits, Reid is a slither behind them. Those two look nice! I'm a huge fan of Seider and Smits package is extremely similar. I'm 50/50 on who I would rather draft.

@Mainely_Leafs He's the better pick. He's currently 17 playing against grown ass men in North Dakota and putting up elite numbers. His size and strength as matures will translate extremely well. He's the cornerstone franchise RD the Leafs have needed forever

My take on if the Leafs can keep their 2026 pick vs. give it to BOS:
The Leafs desperately need a 1D, and the easiest way to get one is through the draft.
If they can jump up high enough to land Keaton Verhoeff, that’s probably the quickest way to turn this retool around.

So if the Leafs luck into 1st overall, this is what you do: Draft Verhoeff. Either at 1 or trade down to 2. Why? If you take McKenna you're moving someone out for a top D and there's none of those really available anyway. Just draft the D, keep your assets, and build around em

Always take the best player available, never go by position unless you think they’re equally talented. Either way, I don’t trust BT to make the right pick.
