Access to reliable light should never determine a child's ability to learn or succeed.
In Moyamba District, every pupil registered for the NPSE in Kori, Kowa and Kamajei Chiefdoms will receive a solar device to support their preparation for the upcoming exams. Through this pilot, 1,000 learners will directly benefit from access to solar-powered learning devices, ensuring that lack of electricity is no longer a barrier to studying and success. As the initiative scales, 5,000 solar devices will be distributed across additional chiefdoms and districts ahead of the 2026/27 academic year.
This initiative, made possible through Solar Buddy in partnership with the Lena Marshall Foundation UK, reflects the power of collaboration in expanding access to quality education and equitable learning opportunities.
At Teach For Sierra Leone, we remain committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of location or circumstance, has the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
We wish all pupils the very best in their upcoming exams.
