Call me old-fashioned, but asking a nation-state to “play nice” in a military conflict just 2 weeks after you’ve assassinated 2/3s of its senior leadership and threatened to annihilate the remainder seems like a fool’s errand.

Israel's defense minister claimed that Israeli forces could kill Iranian officials without approval. China's Foreign Ministry expressed shock over the remarks, stating that the killing of Iranian state leaders and attacks on civilian targets are unacceptable.

Israel says it is bombing bridges to disrupt Hezbollah supply lines. But on the ground the reality is stark: entire routes into southern Lebanon are being severed — effectively cutting off around 1 million people from their homes. Families who have lived on this land for generations now face the very real risk of permanent displacement, unable to return, rebuild, or even reach what remains of their communities. What is being framed as a military tactic is also reshaping the map of civilian life

It is a tragedy that we now have to support Iran, an oppressive majoritarian, patriarchal state. Because opposing Iran is to collaborate with the most naked imperialist assault on the right of developing nations to their sovereignty.

Israel bombed the world's largest gas field. The US coordinated it, then denied it. Iran retaliated. Trump threatened to ‘blow up’ an entire country's energy system. And Keir Starmer condemned Iran. Not empire. Iran. This is Labour. This is the cost of living crisis with a flag

@sardesairajdeep "Just one more reason why this crazy war must STOP!" Rajdeep is right to sound the alarm. We are seeing a $20 billion annual hole in the global energy market that will take half a decade to fix. 🫤😑😐

Frankly, this is the kind of stuff that ensures fewer people stand up against injustice, fewer people help others when in need, fewer good samaritans all around. What an outrageous thing for a judge to say. I feel terrible for Deepak.

I’m sorry, but this is legit hilarious. If only he wasn’t the president and just a character on TV. We could laugh our heads off without any sense of unease, dread, or embarrassment.

It is embarrassing to watch the leader of the world’s fourth-largest economy play the role of a sycophant while her own country faces an energy catastrophe. Between Trump’s "Pearl Harbor" insults and Takaichi’s "only you, Donald" praise, the U.S.-Japan alliance has devolved into a master-client relationship. Real leadership involves standing up for your people’s interests, not offering empty flattery to a leader who clearly has no respect for your history or your sovereignty. Huh!

🚨 WOW! Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi just STUNNED the world, declaring only President Trump can achieve peace as he decimates the Iranian regime "I firmly believe that it is only you, Donald, who can achieve peace across the world!" "And to do so, I am ready to reach out to many of the partners in the international community to achieve our objective together!" "So today, I came here at the White House to directly convey this message to you." 🔥

"In front of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Hong Kong MP Dominic Lee made a shocking statement: “The West talks about human rights, but lets Israel get away with committing genocide.” “The blood of Palestinians and Iranians is on their hands.” “What moral credentials does America have? There is a massive gap between the strong leader image Takaichi projects at home and the submissive rhetoric she uses in Washington. To tell the man who just mocked your country with a Pearl Harbor gotcha that he is the only one who can bring world peace isn't diplomacy; it is a total surrender of national dignity.

Comparing a single highway in Kangra to the world’s most iconic destinations is a massive stretch. There is a fine line between loving your country and living in a bubble of delusion. If you think the only thing holding us back is "better PR," you are ignoring the actual state of our infrastructure and environmental preservation. The Swiss Alps or the Dolomites are not just "famous" because of marketing. They are world class because they prioritize cleanliness, strict zoning laws, and sustainable tourism. A newly paved road in Himachal cannot mask the unregulated construction and litter that often mar our most beautiful landscapes. It is okay to appreciate home without being intellectually dishonest about the rest of the planet. Hyperbole is not a substitute for genuine development. We need to stop the defensive comparisons and start demanding the standards that actually make a place world class.

The snow laden Dhauladhars and the newly constructed highway in Kangra look more beautiful than many foreign destinations. India and our states just need better PR. We already have breathtaking places but sadly we focus less on showcasing them to the world. @nitin_gadkari

Classic Keir Starmer - condemns Iran while ignoring Israel’s strike on the world’s largest gas field at South Pars, which triggered the escalation. What a pathetic excuse of a Prime Minister.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

I condemn in the strongest terms the overnight Iranian strike on a Qatari gas facility. We are working towards a swift resolution to the situation in the Middle East, in the best interests of the British people – because there is no question that ending the war is the quickest way to reduce the cost of living.
