Lo que tiene de especial la música de Grimes, es que surge de estados alterados de consciencia. Especialmente su albúm 'Visións', que para crearlo, Grimes se encerró 3 semanas en su cuarto sola, sin comer y sin dormir hasta que empezó a tener visiones que plasmó en música. Algo similar a lo que hizo Hildegard Von Bingen por allá en siglo XII
