One of our members once got challenged in the loo ... when she was 8 months pregnant! The child is nearly 40 & she still thinks it is really funny. (Admittedly they'd seen her from behind & nearly died of embarrassment when she turned round.)

For all those excited at the thought of women with short hair being excluded from the Ladies, yes, sometimes we're challenged. No, it's never an issue once we speak or the challenger has a proper look. They apologise, we laugh. All good. No-one dies: we are women, not snowflakes.

I was walking through London last night when someone called out of the dark at me, "Are you Jew?" I froze and turned around. It was two school girls. They asked again if I was a Jew. They had something in their hands. I panicked and said no. I was expecting them to launch into an angry "Palestine" rant and thrust pamphlet material at me. It turns out they were handing out candles for Hanukkah. I'm not Jewish. But I shan't forget that volt of panic I felt in the moment I realised I was being viewed as a Jew, and not knowing if things would end well or end badly because of it. I cannot imagine what actual Jews in London and Europe are going through at the moment. I felt paranoid for the rest of my trip. Whilst their offer of candles set my mind at rest and the world became a better place for a moment, it is easy to imagine such an interaction going in the opposite direction...

@TimboHouston @LizWebsterSBF This topic is the government adding taxes to companies, which includes UK SMEs while not fixing the trading relationship with the EU. SMEs can't trade with the EU and can't afford extra taxes. Similar to Brexit voters, all you see is very large companies and not UK SMEs.

Taxing companies who can't trade with anyone & bankrupting farmers who are the only people defending UK food standards isn't helping.
