sony literally telling people "we're going to try and grow marathon and cater to it's core player-base" and people in the comments are still saying it's dead. the derangement is real

Yes, Sony Reports $765 Million Impairment Loss against Bungie. However, from their call - Marathon isn't going anywhere yet and they still intend to try and grow the player base. We do not know how business plan 'revisions' may impact D2 though..

Sony’s CFO Lin Tao confirmed Marathon will continue to be supported!
Here is what they said in full -
“In our studio business, earnings from Bungie's title portfolio did not reach our expectations, so we downwardly revised our business plan and impaired the full amount of the fixed assets related to Bungie except for goodwill.
Player reception to Marathon is strong, with the game receiving a Metacritic score of 82 and more than 90% of the player reviews on Steam being positive. Engagement metrics such as retention also remain at a high level.
Going forward, we aim to improve the performance of the game by working to retain highly engaged core users through the introduction of additional content, further improvements in the gameplay experience and expansion of the user base.”

if i have the skill to wipe entire cryo lobbies with my squad and ive already done DNA access once to fight the compiler just let me do it again. treat them like AI subroutines. now i have to waste a whole day of cryo to find another DNA access key that isn't a promised drop.

What is bungie going to do about Xbox 6 manning in cryo? I literally can't play with my xbox friends because the Party / Matchmaking method they use

@Turtle_Proxy @lockecole777 check the player numbers and steam charts, the game used to have 80K+ players during launch
and according to steam achivements only 12% of current playerbase were able to get to vip status with a faction....

usually the game director isn't a fan of casual friendliness, especially when the free loadout was made to be bad on purpose to get better gear.
maybe these changes were made due to pressure from the rest of bungie or most likely sony to make marathon more casual friendly.

UPDATE: WALKING THE PERIMETER AND UPPING THE GAME We are making an update to the Experimental queue and shifting the Sponsored Marsh map to Sponsored Perimeter. Details below: - As of 3PM PT Sponsored - Perimeter will become available. - Sponsored Perimeter will require you to have a free (green/enhanced tier) sponsored kit equipped to queue. - Sponsored Perimeter will only support crew matching, or pre-made crew queueing. To commemorate this experiment we will also be upping the floor on sponsored kits. Green sponsored kits will now be free and grey tier sponsored kits will be retired until the end of season. Thanks to everyone who has been participating in the Sponsored Dire Marsh experiment, we've learned a lot from your feedback and from observing you.
