@SketchesbyBoze That college brainwashing sure works well, but I guess that's the real purpose of college. You don't need to throw away many thousands of dollars to do any of that. Public libraries are free, and literally nothing keeps you from being exposed to new ideas aside from yourself.

I find it galling that some colleges are introducing three-year degrees. I can’t fathom going to school merely for the credentials and missing the whole purpose of the college experience: exposure to new ideas, books, films; the hours spent wandering the library and stumbling on books that transform your understanding of yourself and your vocation. We’re in danger of losing all the things that give higher education meaning. We risk losing the passion to learn altogether.

I would give Twilight Princess the slight edge in terms of dungeon design and creativity. Music, Pacing, Characters, Secrets and more, I prefer Ocarina of Time. Twilight Princess is great, but it's hard to describe how big a deal Ocarina of Time was when it first released.

@HMKilla I think Spirit Tracks really treads that line of a bad game. Phantom Hourglass too, but slightly less so.

Y'all ain't ready for the conversation but since you WANT it. Ocarina of Time is a NEAR-Perfect Well-oiled Machine of a game, that set the bar and changed the landscape of gaming in terms of gameplay, story execution, contextual aspects, music, and characters that still inspires overall gaming design to this day. While I LOVE Twilight Princess, it is incredibly derivative OF Ocarina of Time in terms of it's presentation and puzzle design, it had the unfortunate development folly of padding, some pacing issues, and odd choices in some it's dungeon design and music composition. While Twilight Princess gets a LOT RIGHT, it also missteps a bunch, an issue Ocarina of Time doesn't suffer from. It's ok to have favorites, and there is NO such thing as a "Bad" Zelda, but when it comes to the idea of what game would receive this kind of Remake, the choice is incredibly obvious as to which game is more iconic and in some perspectives "Better"

@tyrranKPX Fact is, OoT is a perfect game and TP has some heavy flaws. Both are great, but...The overworld in TP is a dull trek you're forced through slowly several times. Unbalanced story, with "surprise" Ganon. Less interesting dungeons. Pacing is poor throughout. Played safe and slow.

People will say that OoT is better because it's influential and ignore the actual quality of the game. Influence and quality are not related. Yes, TP wouldn't exist without OoT, but that has nothing to do with the discussion. As a videogame TP just is better

As I’ve said before, people better get REAL comfortable with their PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2. We’re in for a very long gen. The next batch of consoles is likely to be treated more like a cellphone upgrade at this rate.

@ShitpostRock2 New FFs come out occasionally, mostly just one big remake project. New Persona, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem, KH, and more. New Zelda games come out regularly, with this being the second remake ever. Halo, sure, but it's only a trend for some companies. Nostalgia can be both things.

Every other game announcement is a remake. Nothing new is being built anymore. We're living in a culture so exhausted it can only cannibalize its own past Nostalgia isn't a celebration of greatness it's a symptom of decay. An industry that lives in the past has no future

There is a particular subset of Millenials who feel "lost to time" because they were born at the precise moment where their entire time in Elementary, Middle, and High School was spent in these temp classrooms while their younger siblings had a normal life in the new buildings.

@OrealistMarcus @JCFights A convertible doesn't drive 100s of feet off the ground at a minimum of 100+ mph, won't explode if you bump another car, the top isn't held by a pin you can apparently forget to install, you can slam on the breaks, the wind won't much impede your vision, and so on and so forth.

@fwprism Exclusives sell consoles. Consoles are typically sold at a loss and are more powerful than an equivalent price PC. Therefore, exclusives breed cheaper gaming. It creates easy access gaming, encourages experimentation and competition, and creates various console ecosystems.
