@MarxistHeathen Rarely does arguing back with a transphobe & "confessing" that you're not a trans woman ever stop them. It's never worked for me & I've seen so many videos & stories where that doesn't matter. TERFs don't stop being TERFs they just change how they hurt you.

@WickedStag cis woman & transmasculine people (incl the cis woman in this situation) generally have an option to end the situation by convincing the aggressor that they’re not a tranny. transfeminine people generally do not have that option bc we’re the targets dipshit.

@LaumaHoofjob Try talking about your experiences without talking about anyone else at all. If you can't do that then the problem is you.

@WickedStag Ok well you don't experience transmisogyny. Cis people also don't experience transmisogyny. We deserve a way to talk about the issues that affect our community that YOU don't experience the consequences of.

That's not how people use it though. Especially TME. I find it incredibly subjective to label a person down to assumed life experiences based on gender identity. When people refer to me as "a TME" it's become derogatory.
re:flection station@trainstatio_n

@WickedStag @age_of_evil9524 tma tme arent about who oppresses who though its about who gets oppressed and who doesnt (by transmisogyny, not that trans men dont get oppressed obviously)

@fixurmrahearts @cinnamonmaxxing I do actually. Shocker trans guys are also not perceived as men or women. You don't think that they also see these women as a "third thing"? You can't insist there's depth to hatred and then insist that trans women are the only thing cis women are being perceived as.

@WickedStag @cinnamonmaxxing they see them as trans women. ur just assuming that what they say (calling trans women males) is all there is to it and there is no depth to that. u do not understand what it means to be transfeminized, what it means to be treated as not a woman or a man but as a third thing

@LaumaHoofjob Trans women can talk about the ways in which they're oppressed without inventing labels to define what they assume everyone experiences. I don't refer to cis people as "TEs" to define them by their lack of experience with transphobia. That's weird.

@ftmspongebob0 But why decide that those experiences need a definer? It immediately stops any productive conversation when it's used as a pejorative. You can't call me a "trans-misogyny-exempt" as a noun. If you can't grasp how stupid that is then I can't help you.

@WickedStag “assumed life experiences” well, yes. i can assume that you haven’t faced the struggles specific to trans women if you aren’t a trans woman. shocking, i know.

@ginandjuniper And again, what do transphobes view trans women as? If I agree with you and say transphobes coming after me in the bathroom when I'm not on T and no top surgery at the time assumed I was a trans woman, you'd have to reconcile with the idea that I face transmisogyny.

@MarxistHeathen If that's the case then you have to acknowledge that people like me also face transmisogyny when targeted in the exact same situations. For all anyone knew when they harassed me is that I was either trans or a lesbian. Girl fuck you.

@WickedStag boy, fuck you. you are using transmisogynistic terrorism targeting trans women as evidence to downplay how we are frequently specifically singled out from everyone else as predatory creeps invading women’s spaces.

@HimariSuzuki @alpacnologia @age_of_evil9524 I mean Imane Khelif was proven to be cis but because of the way she looks as a woman of color doing boxing people rushed to label her a violent man. Women of color are disproportionately targeted and punished because Western society's view on gender presentation is white centric.

@alpacnologia @WickedStag @age_of_evil9524 Seriously though. I mean for crying out loud earlier today I was reading a post from a NB black person who was born a girl and they were talking about how they or other black people (like Michelle Obama and Serena Williams) get accused of being men when they're cis

@WickedStag A lot of these people treat gender as inseparable from societal gender roles. Like privelege and power are essential for male gender, therefore you can transition into and out of it. Instead of treating cis men's toxic masculinity and patriarchy as a system that was built,

@WickedStag not inherently born in all men. They throw trans men under the bus by dismissing them as naturally having gained this power and using this oppressive tool by identifying as men.

@WickedStag Which does nothing for trans community as basically half of our issues are being ignored and dismissed. Not to mention it also stems from misoginy and gender stereotypes so perhaps it doesn't just not contribute, but actually makes it even worse.

@WickedStag Which is to say, trans men never transition in hopes to gain power to begin with. Not only it doesn't work this way, but neither we hope for it. We want to break down the gender norms and bring cis men to our level, not climb up to their pedestal of priveleged power.

@VelvetLandmine Definitely not lmao. Not even he is proof of trans men benefiting from the patriarchy when he does everything in his power to separate himself from the trans community. How many cis men do you know labeling themselves as "female living as a man" to appeal to cis TERF women?

@WickedStag This is delulu garbage. In most countries globally, anyone if seen as society as a cïs man, with long hair & wearing a skirt, would get beaten up. Absolutely not the same for someone seen as a cïs woman with short hair & wearing pants.

I feel like it's not hard to understand that even if you have "respect" from cis men around you as a closeted trans woman that that doesn't make up for the turmoil of being inauthentic and hiding yourself, knowing that respect is largely entirely conditional. You aren't thriving.

alone in a dark living room at like 10pm with cartoons on low while I listened to my dad continue screaming and my step siblings cry as he made them pick everything up. I was "awarded" this as his favorite child to sit out of cleaning but it was still abusive & traumatizing. +

Let me give a real life, non-trans, personal example as to what I mean when I say in individual cases privilege may be "awarded" to closeted trans women but at the detriment to themselves. Example in comment below ↓
wicky@WickedStag

@g3tawayfrxmk0ki I understand what you're saying but I still don't agree to full extent. In individual cases closeted trans women may be awarded certain male privileges through social perception, but I don't think that's the same thing as benefiting. It's often at the detriment to themselves.
