Today we were thrilled to commence African Heritage Month with a presentation by the powerful and brilliant @missbrittab We left the presentation feeling hopeful, inspired and moved by her incredible poetry! @tdsb @RonFelsen @rchernoslin

Today we have our 5th presentation in our combatting hate speaker series for students. A heartfelt thank you to @dwayne_morgan for reminding us why combatting hate in all its forms is something we must always be 100 percent committed to. @tdsb @rchernoslin @RonFelsen

Windfields was honoured to welcome @tribvisdance and explore First Nations history and traditions with a stunning and high energy performance. This introduction to the powwow culture of North American Indigenous people was powerful! @RonFelsen @UIEC_Tdsb @tdsb

As @tdsb students, staff & families engage in honouring the children who died, & those that survived residential schools remember to centre First Nations Métis & Inuit peoples stories. And also remember Indigenous joy, brilliance & thrivance!

On Friday, September 29, join the #TDSB community for #OrangeShirtDay, a national movement honouring the survivors and victims of residential schools in Canada. Wear an orange shirt to show your support. Every child matters.

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day & the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students, staff and families @tdsb will recognize this day on Friday, September 29th to remember the Indigenous children that died in residential schools and honour the survivors #OrangeShirtDay

Today marks 20 years since the Supreme Court of Canada unanimously affirmed the existence and protection of Métis rights. The #TDSB community celebrates this landmark decision on September 19, known as #PowleyDay, with Métis communities throughout the provinces and territories.
