Subhanallah, even the grand mufti of Syria is saying we should feel compassion for the innocent Iranians being killed. He also says that the majority aren't extremists and so we should pray for mercy for the dead.

It is not permissible to refer, in matters of Islamic knowledge, to anyone except those who specialise and are qualified in it So Whether it’s your favorite journalist Or a popular social media personality Or a famous celebrity Whoever it may be It’s not for them to issue fatawa on Islam and it is not for us to go to them for fatawa To post reminders, sayings of the scholars, Hadith and Quran with sunnier and wisdom is praiseworthy But to speak on matters we aren’t qualified to speak on is blameworthy And to ask questions about islam, to those who aren’t qualified to speak on Islam, is also blameworthy
