They praise your "hustle" and "strength" while you are literally just surviving on pure autopilot. ​The moment you finally crack, miss a deadline, or drop the ball, they don't offer grace or help. They just get angry that the reliable person they constantly use is suddenly "acting out of character." ​You aren't a person to them; you are a utility. As long as you are producing results, they do not care if you are breaking down in private.
