I hit 50 hours in Crimson Desert today and finally found something to complain about. 😓 The game is so addictive that I genuinely wish I had a full month off work just to explore every corner without thinking about time.

... it's almost like the specific type of immersion of a board game where at first all you see is the board/rules but then you enter the magic circle properly and the real fun begins. And where it excels isat this point the game hasn't thrown everything it has in store at you...

Ça n’a aucun sens. Je n’ai. JAMAIS.

was reading the book of John, and when I got to the part where Judas betrayed Jesus .“when Satan entered him”. it made me so uncomfortable. At first, I didn’t understand why. I even had this feeling like I wanted to stop reading. Then questions started running through my mind: If he was following Jesus, why did Satan enter him? I thought when you’re a Christian, you’re covered? But as I kept reading and really thinking about it, something hit me: Judas was following Jesus… but was his heart really with Him? Later it says Judas was keeping the money bag and stealing from it. Then he agreed to betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. It wasn’t sudden. It was gradual. Small compromises. Hidden sin. Little lies. That’s why it says first the devil “put it into his heart”… and later Satan entered him. And then it became personal. I realized God wasn’t just showing me Judas He was revealing something in me. I saw my own “small” lies. The little compromises I’ve been excusing. And I felt like I was on the verge of falling into sin. In that moment, I felt God correcting me, pulling me back. I cried. Because I realized if I keep entertaining these small things, they won’t stay small. They will grow. And God, in His mercy, is warning me before I sink. This wasn’t just a story anymore. It was a wake-up call.

Crimson Desert is Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, Skyrim and Dragon’s Dogma combined into one. So far I’m loving this game. I was a little overwhelmed at first, but soon after, everything clicked.

I was laid off from MicroProse in early 1993. I joined id Software and began working on Doom that summer. I created or reworked 20 of Doom’s levels. Just before Doom’s release I took a trip back to MicroProse, and showed them a pre-release version of Doom, so they could see what I’d been working on. They were so jealous. I really felt I’d landed on my feet. Later I heard that multiple games at Microsoft had been delayed up to 6 months because the devs “needed to research” i.e., play Doom.

The modern audience doesn't want you to accept this. But DOOM 1993 got everything right. No cutscenes. No hand holding. No corporate slop. Just brutal combat, genius levels and a metal soundtrack. Woke trash disappears within days. DOOM is still here.

PALM SUNDAY HOMILY ✝️You are a thought of God made flesh. The thought of you has been with God and within His Divine Mind since before He laid the foundations of the earth. Before he knit you together in your mother’s womb—he knew you AND HE LOVED YOU. You are a thought of God made flesh—and it is the Mind of God that gave you existence and continues to hold you in existence today. When a carpenter makes a chair, the chair exists separately from the carpenter—but when God made you, you do not exist separately from him—no more than a thought can exist outside of the mind. He created you and continues to hold you in existence. You think of things because they exist, but things exist because God thinks of them. (x2) For God not to think of us would mean the end of us—a thought no longer held in the mind. And who is this Divine Mind? Not a what but a who. The Divine Mind is a Person. St. Augustine tells us the Mind of God is the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, the Son – and it is this same Divine Mind that became Incarnate in Jesus Christ. What does this mean? It means the Mind came and dwelt amongst his own thoughts. That the same Jesus Christ who walked the earth is the same Divine Mind that holds all reality in existence. In fact, as Mary was giving birth to Jesus, Jesus was also holding Mary in existence. And on the Palm Sunday, this gives us a brutal but beautiful truth about the Cross of Christ. That as the Centurions are mocking Jesus, He is holding them in existence. As the Jews are betraying their own Messiah, Jesus is holding them in existence. As they are hammering the nails into his hands, Jesus is holding the nail, the hammer, the wood, and the Romans in existence. All he had to do to escape his torment was to THINK otherwise, and it all would have ended. But He did not. He did not because he LOVES you. He did not because the Divine Mind desired to suffer to reconcile its thoughts back to the Mind that gave them existence. To invite you, a thought of God, back into a beautiful harmony with your own Divine origin. This week is a week of Love. This week is an invitation to a reality that is honestly too beautiful for us to even comprehend. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

This will sound absurd but I’m 80 hours into crimson desert and I’m finally locked into the story. I’m surprised and excited by what’s happening, who’s doing what, and I’m very intrigued to see what happens next type shit. The random world building feels like it’s paying off.
