@sstarkerr I was nervous about Artemis' slingshot back, but when you see what they pulled off on Apollo 13 by the seats of their pants lends one to believe controlling orbital flight must be pretty trivial

George Conway in tears says he gave up nearly $1 million of his children’s inheritance to help Biden because he wanted them to inherit a democracy, not money.
He says he pulled the car over, wiped his tears away, then drove to the fundraiser and gave Biden the check anyway.
“I was driving to a Democratic fundraiser in 2024, and I had written a check for the maximum amount that you can give, which is $929,600 to the Biden Victory Fund.
And as I was driving there, I started crying. And I had to pull the car over because I realized that the money that I was about to give, uh, was money that otherwise would have gone to my children as part of their inheritance.
And I thought to myself: I want my kids to inherit a democracy.
And so, I wiped the tears away and I drove to the fundraiser and I gave them the check.”

@DrBenTapper1 The soulless blue snapshot on the left is what we've come to expect given the ubiquity of digital cameras among the hoi polloi.
The transcendent lunar image on the right can only be achieved with our brightest minds and yes, generous support from you taxpayers. Don't be greedy.
English

The pic on the left, the blue moon, was taken with my Nikon P1000. The one on the right is from the Artemis mission. Let that sink in.
Over 100 billion dollars of taxpayer money and my 1000 dollar camera produces a better image. Are you kidding me??? It’s comical at this point….Why haven’t we seen better footage and more high quality photos??? What are they hiding?

How can I get more attention, then complain that people judge me? I’m not sure what’s worse, the eye brows or the "I cut my own bangs and my kid shaved my head while I slept hair."

@GrahamAllen You're living in fantasy land. Iraq ended in 2011. The price never went down. The big drop was Obama getting elected. Oil prices are not going to drop much this year, if at all. They'll likely keep going up. The cope is wild.

Seriously though, why would they hire A-list actors for every major and minor role in the show???

🌍 100% REAL — straight from NASA (not AI!) 🌍
1972 vs 2026: Earth from space, 54 years apart.
Left: Iconic “Blue Marble” from Apollo 17 — full daylight, Africa shining bright.
Right: Fresh shot from Artemis II crew aboard Orion (April 2026) as they head to the Moon.
Same planet. Different lighting, cameras, and perspective — but still breathtaking.
Technology evolved. Earth’s beauty hasn’t.

It was also full of literally naked cavemen who did nothing with that land.

Jim Carrey on why Sidney Lumet's 'Network' (1976) is his favourite movie of all time:
"My favorite movie of all time is 'Network' (1976). I like the character of Paddy Chayefsky. It’s like a prophecy of what happened in the last fifty years. Every actor scores immensely. It’s phenomenal.
Every actor in 'Network' has an arc that you want to follow, and there were just themes that were touched upon in the movie that were just so incredibly deep to me. It was illuminating.
It was like when . . . I’m sorry, I’ve forgotten the actor’s name . . . wait, it was William Holden . . . okay, when he’s in the kitchen talking to his girlfriend, who he has left his wife for, and she’s going all over the place about success and how everything is working out great and all of that stuff, and he’s trying to get her attention he says, “You’re dealing with a man for whom mortality' is a real thing, for whom death is a real thing with definable features.”
Lines like that make you just go, Ah, God. Let me say a line like that someday. That so touches people on a real level."

@AlfredAlfer77 He's no actor but Ian Gillan from the original soundtrack is *the* Christ and Murray Head as Judas killed it too.

One of the best moments from Jesus Christ Superstar is the garden scene where Jesus talks to God and accepts his fate. I always say Ted Neeley is by far the best Jesus out of all the actors who played the role. His vocals are absolutely killer here and this scene still hits hard after all these years. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Neeley live in highschool at a performance of JCS - one of his last - and got to shake his hand afterwards. One of the few true rock star actors.

@taknom02 And proud of it.

If you think Bruce Springsteen should shut up about politics and just play his songs, you obviously have no idea what Bruce Springsteen has been singing about for the past 50 years
