@BBSimons I shed a tear anytime i pass the Trade Fair. I remember the numerous fairs including Indutech, ECOWAS, International etc with nostalgia. What a shame

4/ We also took this video to add a bit more colour. To date, no apologies to Colour Planet & the hundreds of entrepreneurs who lost their livelihoods (instead of being incorporated into the new devt) have been made. The new CEO still has 6 months, though. youtu.be/wQrtXUI7zMc

1/ When the 127-acre Ghana Trade Fair opened in 1967, it was the largest purpose-built exhibition center in West Africa. For decades, it wasn't well look after. But it was still home to many businesses, like Colour Planet. In 2018, it looked like this.

@BBSimons ECG should meter all barracks. They are using power to run businesses without paying. Anyone in the barracks should be granted the life line free but pay for anything above the life line

The govt of Ghana says ECG must find $43m for private power producers every month. And more money for its own operations plus other upstream actors like transmission operators. To prove a point, ECG has started shutting power to govt facilities that owe it money. #AtikaAtika

Today isn't just about hearts and flowers; it's a reminder to cherish the people around us. In the hustle and bustle of our own lives, it's easy to forget that the real magic happens when we share a bit of love with others. ❤️

I’m just seeing excerpts of an episode of Paul Adom Otchere’s Good Evening Ghana, a platform that has now been reduced to an anti-John Mahama ‘come back’ agenda setting platform. Mr Mahama, in his speech at an engagement with Chiefs and people of Hohoe, asked organized labor to afford the next NDC Mahama government when elected (considering how the Akufo Addo/ Bawumia-led NPP has destroyed the economy leading to debt default, credit rating downgrades to junk status, high interest rates etc.) to use its first few months to RESET the economy, stop the decline, stabilize the economy and restore the nation back on the path of development and progress, before beginning to address the remuneration concerns of Labour. How can such progressive thoughts now be interpreted as exhibiting a lack of ideas or understanding of the expectations of a presidential candidate? Should we not be asking Paul Adom Otchere to remove the log from his own eyes and refocus his attention on the corruption, the astonishing excessive borrowing, the abuse of power amid the return to the IMF and the general hardships bestowed upon the country as more pertinent issues requiring his attention? Well I am not surprised. He is currently Board Chair of the GACL where it is rumored that huge tracts of government lands are being parceled and farmed out to party aficionados and affiliates under his watch. Shall we then conclude that all the ruckus being made of Mr Mahama’s mature comments is borne out of personal aggrandizement and greed rather than any love for Ghana? Our nation has been too battered these last few years. Any responsible citizen should aim at being part of the solution, or lend support towards a proffered solution. You have no right being part of the problem and yet getting in the way of the solutions to those problems you helped create.

@tv3_ghana I'm sad that the telcos are not taking any action against their staff and or agents who used people's IDs to register other people. This is criminal

By the way, the software glitches at ECG is a reminder to Ghanaian leaders to THINK CRITICALLY as they continue to push this flawed idea of centralising all civic services in one Ghana Card database. Should a zero day or ransomware exploit occur, the country will shut down!

Queues are building up across Accra as electricity consumers try to load up prepaid credits at the few vendors that appear unaffected by software glitches. Prepaid was brought in to prevent commercial losses due to customer arrears but no safeguards were put in for downtime.

@BBSimons He said it was not his fault and i made him understand that even if a security man at ECG does something wrong, it's him because he appointed the security man.

@BBSimons I recall my banter on phone with the former MD when I went more than 24 hours without power because the credit i bought could not be automatically loaded onto my meter.

@BBSimons The only country where IT makes people suffer rather than making things better: ECG, system down. Water, system down. Banks, system down. SIM re-registration, system down etc
