NOBODY should be hungry. NOBODY should be homeless. NOBODY should lack healthcare. NOBODY should be unsafe. If we can't all agree on that, we're doomed.

Am I hypomanic or just happy? 🤔 After being depressed so long it's easy to forget what it feels like to be okay. But my thoughts are racing a bit I'm struggling to record because I'm babbling on and on. 😆

@balancingbp I really hope not. It's so difficult to judge sometimes.

@balancingbp I think that's the only way. I have blocked the couple of people who were ganging up together. So hopefully will have some respite until the next ones come along.

Why I believe the psychiatrists are right in my diagnosis of bipolar. I am thoroughly fed up with the anti psychiatry movement and their lack of compassion for people living with a serious mental illness.

Nobody likes you when you show symptoms of negative mental health. It’s a fact. We can talk all day about ‘mental health matters’ and how important it is, but the moment you are depressed, or show signs of struggling, people start to distance themselves. They see you as a burden, not a person in pain who needs help.

Next week's disability cuts will make people destitute - and you might not understand how bad they are until it's too late. 🆘 Link to article below 👇 #UC

I am not on LCWRA at the moment. I have been before. Rather than feel even more committed to work now there is a 50% cut, I feel more fearful lest I cannot work. My point? Fear is not motivating. It is destabilising. And that is bad for mental health (and so the economy).

@balancingbp Yes I get that. But don't forget you have a personality that exists beyond bipolar

@balancingbp That was always my point when I was refused housing for months, how can I recover when I don't have somewhere to call home and feel at home in. Hopefully you get in your new place soon, good luck with it

Sorry for not posting, I have been homeless since October (well in temp accommodation) and the council called me Monday to let me know I'd be getting the keys to my new flat on Tuesday. I've had so much to do as I need to be out of here by Tuesday and currently I have no flooring, no furniture, nothing. So this week is going to be a big renovation task for me. I haven't even packed up or cleaned anything because my motivation has been on the floor as I've had a cold. But it's good news that I'll finally have a permanent home. 🥹

LCWRA is the benefit for people who are considered too ill or disabled to be expected to work. From Monday, new claimants will get about 50% less money. Same illness. Same disability. Half the support. That will have serious mental health consequences. Poverty worsens health.

We are about to run a national experiment in what happens when you make severely ill and disabled people poorer. We already know the results: worse mental health, more crisis care, more hospital admissions, more homelessness. The LCWRA cut for new claimants begins Monday.

@danice_danis This is a good idea! Best I can do is keep sleeping well and hope for the best. I think it's just been so long since I felt happy I've forgotten how good it is 🥺

@balancingbp Tbh I quit worrying about the difference between happy and hypomanic. Instead I focus on maintaining some sort of awareness for the shift into mania.
