Bitcoin is the exit. Fiat is the trap. Cutting through the noise with Aussie finance insights + Bitcoin truth bombs. Not financial advice.

The RBA calling bitcoin a poor store of value is like McDonald’s criticizing salads for being unhealthy. You print money for a living. Sit this one out. @GreenTyler27 @AusBTCIndBody

@QUEWB “Not your keys” is a technical truth, not a legal answer. If a custodian withholds coins or goes insolvent, property/tort and insolvency rules shape rights, remedies, and recovery outcomes. This often makes a material difference to what people get back.

High Court of Australia granted special leave in Poulton v Conrad. This is a Bitcoin case on whether BTC is “property capable of possession” and whether conversion/detinue apply when coins are withheld. Potential implications for custody & recovery. 👨‍⚖️👀

Calling Bitcoin’s “digital gold” reputation “unravelling” confuses time horizon with thesis. Gold is the incumbent safe haven. Bitcoin is still in monetisation and price discovery. Short-term volatility challenges the narrative today; it doesn’t falsify it.

“A former Reserve Bank governor has lashed out at Donald Trump, calling him a "f... ing idiot" for threatening the independence of US Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell, as central bankers across the world condemn the US President. But the long-simmering stoush erupted last week when US prosecutors issued grand jury subpoenas against Mr Powell over cost blowouts to $2.5bn renovations of the Fed's headquarters in Washington. The potential criminal indictment was widely seen as a politically motivated attempt to influence Fed policy and sparked an immediate global backlash, with RBA governor Michele Bullock joining the heads of major central banks in throwing their support behind Mr Powell.” V “The Reserve Bank's annual report shows the institution with $12.4 billion in negative equity after running an accounting loss of $36.4 billion.” V “But the second point is that the information that is of interest is actually confidential.” •••••••••••••••••••• Trump is again threatening to remove the independence of the Federal Reserve. This is a great idea. Why should unelected central banks get to manage our currency with no accountability or transparency? It beggars belief that that when I was a Senator, an unelected bureaucrat could refuse to hand over correspondence between itself and the International Bank of Settlements. I am not surprised that the world’s central bankers have all come out and condemned Trump - no doubt they were handed their talking points by the IBS. It’s typical of our governments to protect International Banks and Intelligence Agencies from scrutiny, whilst trying to censor free speech on individuals. It’s time to put the People First for a change. People First is the only party that has a policy to remove the independence of our central banks. The Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India totally trashed Bitcoin in his latest speech. 🚮 He also said Stablecoins do not serve a purpose. 🤔 It has to be one of the most one-eyed, ill-informed, and self-serving speeches I've read for a long time. 😂

@AusBTCIndBody @abcnews @IanVerrender Calling Bitcoin’s ‘last useful business’ money laundering is lazy. Most illicit finance runs through banks and cash, while BTC sits in regulated ETFs on a public ledger. Tether’s role exposes shortcomings in dollar rails, not Bitcoin.

This has got to have been the poorest reporting on Bitcoin in recent times, and it comes from the Chief Business Correspondent at @abcnews. The public deserve better.

@cjoye Hi Chris, I enjoy your commentary but there are some claims in this article that should be called out as patently false, i.e. where you state: 1. Stablecoins have zero regulatory oversight. 2. Bitcoin possesses all the hallmarks of a Ponzi scheme. @AusBTCIndBody

The Czech National Bank has purchased digital assets for the first time in its history. 🌐 Through this USD 1 million investment, the CNB has created a test portfolio of digital assets based on blockchain. 🔗 In addition to bitcoin, the portfolio will include a test investment in the form of a USD stablecoin and a tokenised deposit on the blockchain. 🖥️ 📌 The purchase was made outside the CNB’s existing international reserves. The total amount invested will not be actively increased. 💬 “I came up with the idea of creating a test portfolio in January 2025. The aim was to test decentralised bitcoin from the central bank’s perspective and to evaluate its potential role in diversifying our reserves. The Bank Board then decided to have an analysis prepared. Subsequent internal discussions broadened the scope to include the future of payments and the tokenisation of assets. As a result, stablecoins and tokenised deposits were included alongside bitcoin. We will inform the public about our experience on an ongoing basis and present an overall assessment of the project in approximately two to three years,” said CNB Governor Aleš Michl (@MICHLiq_). ➡️ The aim is to gain practical experience with blockchain-based technologies, which may fundamentally affect the operation of the financial and payment system in the future. In the test portfolio, the CNB will test the whole chain of processes associated with the purchase, holding and management of digital assets – from technical administration of keys and multi-level approval processes, through crisis scenarios and security mechanisms, to verifying AML compliance. 🔗 Details: cnb.cz/en/cnb-news/pr…

@jack Nice kit! Playing Devil's Advocate for a moment 😈: query whether consumers would have a legitimate expectation to see any cons listed/mentioned. For example, depending on the jurisdiction, whether there may be potential tax consequences.

The corporate regulator (ASIC) has reportedly finalised its guidance on which digital assets it considers to be financial products under corporate law. Apparently Bitcoin will not be considered as a type of financial product. ✅ Source 👉 AFR

@El_FreedomFairy @ghostofstacks Most media stories focus on price, so it is a natural starting point. Great work on the interviews. Do some more interviews in the area and you may get a chance to ask Michele Bullock if she has changed her views on Bitcoin.

BITCOIN STREET INTERVIEWS Today I hit the streets of Martin Place to see what people knew about Bitcoin, with the lines for gold as our backdrop. Almost everyone I spoke to - on and off camera - knew little to nothing about it. They also consistently expressed apprehension and many seemed unenthused. Some, on the other hand, were super open and shared their thoughts and wanted to know more so I told them about various books and podcasts they could check out. All of their answers, and the lack of interest, goes to show just how early we are. Take the orange pill or be like the people in the background - buying high and most certainly selling low!

The Treasury’s proposed Digital Asset and Tokenised Custody Platforms Bill extends AFSL-level obligations into a new market that deliberately ignores the fundamental differences between securities, managed investments, and commodity-like assets such as Bitcoin. Its sweeping definitions capture both speculative tokens and decentralised commodities, treating them as the same thing — in spite of their clear legal, technical, and economic distinctions. If you don't think this is a good idea, please reach out to your senators. We have prepared a template that we encourage you to edit as you see fit. tinyurl.com/3t8spjek

@zerohedge True. That is why Bitcoin is based on energy: you can issue fake fiat currency, and every government in history has done so, but it is impossible to fake energy.

🚨 Wow. It’s here. Australia’s AFP has just launched National Security Investigation Teams to target “groups and individuals causing harm to social cohesion.” Let that sink in. They’ve built the UK Online Safety Act but skipped Parliament altogether. This isn’t about safety. It’s about control. When the government starts policing emotion, “fear,” “hatred,” “humiliation” it’s no longer protecting you, it’s protecting itself. First Digital ID. Then Age Verification. Now National Security for “social cohesion.” Step by step, freedom is being replaced by permission. Australia doesn’t need another Online Safety Act. It needs accountability, transparency, and courage. 🎯 Freedom isn’t dangerous… silence is.
