@Dean_Bean1 @TheLiberal_ie @Titch16487899 Because most of our place names derive from the Irish language. Ballygawley is anglicised from Baile Ui Dhálaigh (pronounced "Bal-ya ee Ghal-ee"), meaning "O'Daly's town" or "town of the O'Daly".

@Martin_Cleary1 "These games are set to be played in four 15-minutes quarters with interchanges as opposed to substitutes to ensure every player is exposed to the new rules as well as reducing fatigue." I might have been wrong on this 1, still unsure

Just curious is the 15 minute quarters just for these trial games or will that be brought in too? #gaabeo #interpro

@Reacomm1 @Tadhg2024 Maybe too extreme. They could allow so many in a row, something like the bounce or steps rules. 2 or 3 hand passes, then the ball has to be kicked?

Not liking the new gaelic football rules at all. Doesn't fix the slow game in the slightest, like watching paint dry. Maybe it's time to consider reversing all rule changes made in recent years, instead of adding more rules to slow the game down . This is not the game I love #GAA

@kateobrien456 The GAA, here to preserve gaelic games, but causing the death of gaelic football with these new rules. That's without getting into All-Ireland Sunday and years of tradition being moved forward by so many months, didn't better the sports, just allowed for more concerts in croker.

I ain’t no pro but why punish the fans to a quarterly break and for them to take a calculator to every game? Gaelic football is know for its historic ways. Don’t change it #gaabeo

@castalksgaa Can only hope it'll be better than this 🤞. Kind of feels like something I've known and loved all my life, went on holidays, and somehow came back unrecognisable in a bad way. Feels like the beginning of the end for me, but really hope I'm wrong.

@SportTG4 @TG4TV Nice to try something different, but pity it hasn't helped to speed the game up as they intended. Back to the drawing board, because that was awful

@castalksgaa I wouldn't say I didn't like it because it's too open, but it being more open didn't help speed the game up at all. Higher overall scoring, but awful game. Slow and mind-numbingly boring. Doesn't fix a thing.

@ThomasConway_96 They're only trialling it - needs to be voted in by Congress to see if it becomes the new 'norm'

What happens if this new version of gaelic football fails? Surely we can't retreat back to the old style..Just scrap it altogether maybe #gaabeo

@Hawk10772 I know. Can only hope they don't go ahead with them, but something tells me they've already made their minds up. Probably use the higher scoring game as a reason to implement them, regardless of how much it changes the game or how dire it is to watch 🙈

@SportTG4 @TG4TV We must be watching a dif game. Boring is an understatement. Overall points don't reflect how slow this game is. Can't speak for anyone else, but I've been following Gaelic football since I can remember, but whatever this is, I wouldn't take a free ticket for 😔 #nolongergaelic

Outrageous that LNP (an unelected body that contains representatives of sand extractors and the bloody Earl of Shaftesbury!) continues to get political legitimacy while @AndrewMuirNI still will not meet with the grassroots Save Lough Neagh campaign! Shame!

@brendanhughes64 @BBCNewsNI LNP appear to be pulling all the strings here, when others are putting in more work around the Lough without any acknowledgement or engagement from political representatives. How have LNP become the voice for Lough Neagh? They certainly don't represent the views of the majority
