@Reply7676238460 @AzPetrich It still happens to this day. The numbers get blurry if you factor in the myriad ‘reproductive health’ ‘treatments’

@ccfrendo @AzPetrich And if you look up any genealogy data from that time period you’ll also see a majority of people lost a least 1+ child prematurely.

@ccfrendo @AzPetrich Not really, midwives have existed for a really long time. Free birthing it no help from anyone with any knowledge of birth

@ccfrendo @AzPetrich Normal people look at recent advancements in healthcare, especially in the health outcomes of pregnant women and newborn babies, as a modern miracle. Then you have a bunch of people who breathe with their mouth acting like prenatal vitamins are a scam to give your baby communism

@Lauwke3 @AzPetrich Midwives existed forever? Who were the midwives when Jesus was born? I promise you, many times through history women were completely alone during childbirth. It still happens. In fact women post it online.

@ccfrendo @AzPetrich Lol no, women always had assistence during birth from other women. We call them "midwives" and in my country it's still popular to do homebirth with a midwife to help you.

@__C_a_l_e_b__ @AzPetrich The life expectancy numbers are incorrect due to infant mortality. People weren’t universally living to their mid thirties for millennia, for that to change in the last 100 years. However, if you look into the number of women getting pregnant then vs now you’re still wrong

@ccfrendo @AzPetrich It's always hilarious when people bring up this argument about 100 years or 200 years ago we did this and it was normal and we were all fine. Except we weren't, life expectancy was life, infant mortality was high. We changed things for a fucking reason, man.

@nannakat246 @AzPetrich 70% is a pretty solid success rate. Are you saying hospitals are the sole reason for the presence of competent people at birth?

@ccfrendo @AzPetrich And infant mortality was about 30%. Not to mention the loss of mothers. If you can’t see, you wear glasses and if you can’t walk you use a wheelchair. Having at least some competent person present at a birth is no different.

@beigepilled @nannakat246 @AzPetrich I don’t think modern tap water in places like Flint, Michigan is helping the kids thrive. Dis nigga ackin like we the first or the best at inventing indoor plumbing.

@SeattleHobbyist @AzPetrich What’s a hospital dumb ass? Are all people alive today are here because your granddaddy was born in a hospital in 1890? Was your grand daddy grand daddy born in a hospital?
