Whenever I watch the anime, I’ve had a nagging feeling about the connection to the tale of The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. Now, I’m kinda sure that this tale serves as the motif for Uisaki. 1. On the day Uika meets Sakiko, she visits a planetarium and views the Summer Triangle. 2. The sky they looked up at together as children also featured the Summer Triangle. (Ave Mujica Ep 11). 3. The planetarium narration in MyGO Ep 2: "This large triangle formed by connecting these three stars is called the Summer Triangle. In fact, the stars you know as the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl are Altair and Vega." The tale: The Weaver Girl (daughter of the Jade Emperor) and the Cowherd married, but when they became lazy and neglected their duties, the angry Emperor separated them by the Milky Way. However, on the condition that they work diligently, they are permitted to reunite just once a year on July 7th. In the Sanzigen commentary for MyGO Ep 8, SV mentioned at the scene with Uika and Sakiko that the sequence going from the Summer Triangle to the bridge is suggestive. In the tale, the two lovers meet by crossing a bridge formed by magpies. Seasonal and Situational Parallels: Sakiko: "Looking up at the sky with you was always in the summer." Uika: "When summer came, Sakichan would come to our island..."  The fact that they are depicted as meeting only in the summer, the intervention of guardians who separate them, and the perceived "class difference" between them mirror the dynamics of the Cowherd and Weaver Girl. Interestingly, there is a parallel regarding the Cowherd Star (Altair) itself. While Altair is widely known to the public as the Cowherd Star, there is a claim that the “true” Cowherd Star is actually Dabih. This controversy and the mystery surrounding the identity of the "real" Cowherd star resonate deeply with the narrative surrounding Uika (Hatsune) and her identity.
