Gotta give it up to Ryan Peterson, the starting pitcher for Sam Houston. The Ride/Run action, combined with the carry on his fastball, is TOUGH to handle. Especially in February, and especially when you have a slider to back it up that has the depth of his slider. This dude was ON POINT! If you need a pro comp, watch Emmet Sheehan of the Dodgers. Basically gets by on 2 pitches, which are a 4 seam with sinker tendencies, and a depthy slider, occasional changeup. It's a harder combo to hit than it seems, because the ball never ends up where it's supposed to, so the high strikeout totals tonight were not a surprise for this time of year, or any for that matter. I am SUPER glad that OSU is getting to see arms like this early on in this season. This young man will be a pro, and likely a VERY successful one at that, so tip of the cap. #gopokes #okstate @BearkatsBSB
