Grammys added a new category "Best Asian Pop Music Performance" at next year's ceremony.. — "This Category recognizes artistic excellence in Asian pop music performances originating from or widely recognized within Asian markets, including but not limited to K-pop, J-pop and C-pop, with meaningful use of one or more Asian languages. Awards are presented to the performing artist(s)." 🙄

@MinYoongiSwagg7 That's so interesting. Are they doing the anglo pop artist award, and the black pop artist award, and the latin pop artist award as well? I thought the Grammy award was for excellence in music. I didn't know the awards were race specific. How impossibly stupid.

The Grammys creating an "Asian Pop Performance" category the same year BTS returns with one of the year's biggest albums feels less like inclusion and more like a new way to keep Asian artists out of the main categories. If the music is good enough to dominate charts, stadiums, and global culture, it's good enough to compete for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Separate shouldn't mean secondary.
