Not everything is measured in reach. @EFF didn't leave because they miscounted followers they left because they made a values decision. Reach is temporary. Platforms ban accounts without warning, change algorithms overnight, and rewrite rules while you're mid-sentence. Building your entire strategy on someone else's infrastructure is the real mistake. The advisor who should be fired is the one who tells you to go all-in on a platform you don't control.

Whoever is advising @EFF on social strategy should be fired. Their reach on their X account is 13.3x larger than on their Instagram account—and on 228x larger than their TikTok account. If they want their foundation to have an impact on the global conversation, the only place is on X.
