This afternoon, #EastersideYear5and6 have been using sources to answer the question ‘what was life like in Victorian workhouses?’. Children were really surprised to find out how people were treated and what the living conditions were like. #EastersideHistory

This week, #EastersideHNB have enjoyed welcoming some fish to join their classroom.

#EastersideYear3and4 are investigating how evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection all work together to form the Water Cycle. #EastersideScience

#EastersideYear5and6 have been learning about life in the Victorian Era. This week they focused on Queen Victorian's reign. #EastersideHistory

This week, #EastersideHNB have been reading The Tiny Seed. The children then planted their own tiny seeds in the garden planter. They planted sunflowers, carrots, broad beans, apple seeds and some wild flowers.

#EastersideYear3and4 have created models of mountains to represent contour lines. The children used their oracy skills to explain their understanding. #EastersideGeography

#EastersideYear1and2 have been visited by Amanda's Creature Comforts as part of their science work. The children were learning about suitable habitats before creating a variety of habitats for real animals. #EastersideScience

Our Y5/6 football team were invited to Rockliffe Park. They toured the grounds, gained an insight into the Education Programme, had a coaching session and played in a tournament. They even got to see the @Boro players in action! #EastersideSports #EastersideEnrichment

EYs have been developing their artistic skills outside by creating an art zone. Children painted different materials and explored rolling and stamping objects to make marks. Children mixed the paints together to make different colours. #EastersideEarlyYears #EastersideArt

KS2 classes have been working with InsideOut this morning. They have been focusing on the importance of a good sleep routine and how a lack of sleep affects our health and wellbeing 😴💤Our parents/carer session is on 18.03.25 at 9am, please join us for a cup of tea.

Class 3 have developed their fluency to order and compare negative numbers. Subsequently, they were able to apply their understanding when answering reasoning and problem solving questions. #EastersideMaths

In science, #EastersideYear5and6 have been recapping learning from their previous evolution and adaptation topic before learning about the journey that electricity goes through before it gets into our homes. #EastersideScience

This afternoon, Class 3 have been looking at sources of evidence to infer what life was like during the Victorian era. Children started the lesson by trying to work out what the question could be to the answer they were given by retrieving their prior learning. #EastersideHistory

Year 4 have been learning about cave art from the Stone Age. They used a range of materials to create their own. #EastersideArt #EastersideHistory

Last week, we celebrated World Book Day 2025. We visited a pop-up book shop to spend our book tokens, created cosy dens to share stories and engaged in a variety of reading tasks. #EastersideReads
