i am convinced that halsey dropping tgi deluxe out of nowhere, when the original album dropped in 2024, was a compromise with her label. we know they won’t let her release another album, and we know she’s been working on new stuff. this is the way she’s showing us new music.

The sharp color shift between these two covers reminded me of the depression–mania spectrum, which actually makes sense if we don’t count “Afraid of the Dark,” the deluxe tracks are more high-tempo.

Idk if anyone has noticed this but TGI was the first album to have Halsey’s eyes. Badlands she was turned with the font over her face, HFK the eye is poked out, Manic had the bruised eye, IICHLIWP she’s not fully faced towards the photo. TGI she’s looking straight into us.

hear me out the back to badlands tour was an extension of the great impersonator era because it was halsey as the impersonator as halsey performing and that’s why she kept “resurrecting” different versions of herself and looks she had in the original badlands era. 🧵
