defeating an enemy who has been plotting for 20 years(someone capable of wiping out almost all the archives and obsessed with stealing the supernatural power of the zhang family blood clearly requires facing a massive clan. it takes a meticulous strategy to eradicate them

does turning dark suddenly make someone a villain? you guys are just like ppl who blame a bullying victim for fighting back, labeling them as the bad guy when in fact everything they did was completely justified. besides at what point did haixia ever k*ll who was purely innocent?

can this domestic ent industry give us a plot where the main character looks cruel but in reality he's just eliminating criminals? like an anti-hero superhero, ding yuxi would absolutely nail it

@dramaticath both of them are constantly trying to outread each other's minds. haixia also still shows how deeply he cares for the institution, filled with immense rage upon realizing how insanely ruthless these evil people were in destroying his southern archives.

@dramaticath ep 24 is back on track. haixia realized from the very beginning that this village was drenched in blood which is why it was chosen as part of his grand plan to show his 'pledge of allegiance' to the enemy. the tension between him and mo yungao is palpable

ep 23 ruined the script's perfection... it feels so rushed, a group of bandits who've killed so many people suddenly change in a split second just by meeting the main character. even the two main characters look clueless in this ep. dk what story they're supposed to tell us

@muziqis haiqi even while facing death would never be that soft toward a group of killers, let alone allow hailou to recruit one of em to the archives just to make ppl believe this murderous bandit group is actually good, when in fact not. thats exactly why haixia just let them get killed

horrible editing again. im like sure they cut a bit of the haiqi-fenghuang fight before it led them to the cliff and they didnt even focus on haiqi deciding to save fenghuang instead of the falling bailejing token (which is what made fenghuang idolise her)

be honest zhang haixia and mo yungao's interactions are way more interesting to watch... the tension when they're sizing each other up is so palpable
