I started working with educational YouTube channels while still in high school. No audience. No experience. No idea what I was doing. 3 years later I've built a $200,000+ educational YouTube business. Here's how I did it and what I learned along the way🧵

@eptwts too funny seeing people hate on ChatGPT in the past 2 months while glazing Claude to the moon. Now out of nowhere ChatGPT is the shit again and beat Claude in every metric It’s all a chase for attention I guess

it seems like AI twitter has turned into ppl jerking off to benchmarks & every little update that comes out... what happened to building useful shit, sharing practical use-cases & making a ton of money? either my feed is completely cooked, or ppl have forgotten why they're in this space in the first place

@NotLucFN Agreed, but at the same time I think it’s good people are to a certain degree forced to start producing high quality faceless content

Inauthentic content is the worst change YouTube has made in a while. 1) It's killing channels that are actually making amazing content (even with zero AI) 2) It's pushing everyone away from wanting to make YouTube videos, so they are migrating to other platform programs 3) The rule & enforcement is so vague that nobody knows how to actually make monetizable content It really feels like they didn't mean to turn the sensitivity up this high and don't know what this change has caused. Hope there is some clarity on it soon.

Been playing around with ChatGPT image 2 for the paste few days but I simply don't find it to be as good as nano banana The results are good but it's slow as hell and cost a fortune compared to nano banana The only area I found it to be truly one of a kind in is text generation but I believe it will be forgotten shortly

the days of getting rich quick on youtube are over 2 years ago you could post low effort slop, go viral and make a bag people were pulling 20k a month with faceless channels they spent 30 minutes on that era is DEAD youtube is cleaning house. demonetization waves are hitting the slop channels hard and the algorithm is starting to actually reward real production if you're running a high effort channel posting videos that take real time, money and research, this is the best thing that could happen to you your competition is getting wiped out automatically because 99% of people do not have the patience to spend a week and hundreds of dollars on a single video youtube is telling you exactly what they want on the platform, high effort content that keep the viewer on the platform, attract advertisers and provide actual value and if you deliver that, they will reward you for it the channels surviving this wave are the ones that will dominate the next 5 years moral of the story: spend more effort, time, money into your videos and bright days are ahead of you

@bi369x Agreed, also noticed longer videos (10 min+) tend to do a lot better than sub 10 minute long videos. Honestly I believe it's the right move from YouTube to prefer channels that are actually putting effort into their videos

Yeah you can but it's harder then it used to be. The content you post need to be authentic, unique and actually bring value to the viewer. The best way to think about it is probably, will my channel attract advertisers or push them away. If no, your probably not in the right niche

Hi, are faceless channels still monetizable? With all this demonetization on YouTube, how can I ever become the next MrBeast? He also started with faceless content, and even worse quality at the beginning.

AdSense is the worst way to make money on YouTube and here’s why... Most people grind for months to hit a thousand subscribers, they get monetized and then realize they barely made back the production cost of the videos But here's what nobody tells you The same videos that make $500 in ad revenue could be making 5 thousand dollars if you just know how to monetize it correctly For example, this video got almost 200k views and made only $700 in ad revenue, yet it made over $10K in pure profit all because of external monetization The creators who are actually making money on YouTube is not doing it from ad revenue? Instead they’re using they’re using their channel to funnel the viewer into a software, community or digital product and that’s where the real money is made

I agree with your point, but at the same time I don't think it would be right if YouTube start demonetizing/removing channels for copying thumbnail concepts. Nobody owns the right to a thumbnail concept and a huge part of running a YouTube channel is replicating concepts that have been proven to work. Most of the biggest channels of the platform are copying other channels concepts and I honestly think it's a part of the game.

Maybe you got demonetized because you stole my Atrium channel's thumbnails? YouTube figured that out without anyone reporting it. CC @LouixGilpin who worked mega hard with 10+ thumbnail concepts for each video we do...

This is ridiculous. I'm going to move heaven and earth to fix this. @TeamYouTube wrongly demonetized my channel Jortx on April 17 for "Inauthentic Content." This is CLEARLY AN ERROR and it puts my entire business at risk. - The channel has 5 VIDEOS in 4 months. - Each takes 3+ weeks to produce. - 10-20 day gaps between uploads. This is literally the OPPOSITE of mass-produced. Clearly collateral damage from an automated AI ban wave. Please, just LOOK at my history: • 3+ years on YouTube • Multiple channels, 500K+ subscribers combined • Millions of views, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars generated for YouTube • NOT A SINGLE STRIKE. Ever. • 10+ people depending on this work full-time A single qualified human looking at this account for 30 seconds would immediately see this is a mistake. Instead, all my channels are now at risk because of one false accusation from an algorithm. What I've done: • Public tweet to @TeamYouTube yesterday → replied with a generic automated message that doesn't even address my case • DMs on X → no reply • Formal legal appeal to yt-partner-support@google.com today citing EU Digital Services Act (Articles 14, 15, 17, 20) The response? An automated email sent back 1 SECOND later. Screenshot below ⬇️ AI banning. AI responding. Zero humans. This is exactly what Article 20 DSA exists to prevent. As a European creator, if my case is not properly reviewed by a qualified human, I will escalate under the EU Digital Services Act (Articles 17 & 20) to the Spanish Digital Services Coordinator and the European Commission. @YouTube , this is not optional. It's binding EU law. This goes against common sense AND the law. We need to cut this out at the root, before no one is safe. Please RT and tag @TeamYouTube to the death. Please. Tomorrow it could be YOUR channel. We need a real human to look at this. @Jortx-HQ" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtube.com/@Jortx-HQ

You're not getting demonetized because you're using AI You're getting demonetized because you're posting unoriginal content that provide zero value to the viewer and don't attract advertisers Imagine you're running ads on YouTube for your product, would you like your ad placed next to a video posted by one of these demonetized channels? Probably not. The july 15th update says nothing about AI content, it simply says you can't monetize repetitious and inauthentic content It just happen to be the case that AI content usually is repetitious and inaiuthetic

the shorts demonetization wave is the best thing that ever happened to educational creators for two years everyone and their mom pivoted to shorts. clip farms, reaction channels, ai slop narrations over minecraft parkour. easy rpm, easy views, easy money. now youtube is quietly turning off the tap reused content policies tightening shorts cpms collapsing entire channels losing monetization overnight and what's left standing? long form educational content. the exact thing everyone said was dead. honestly this was always going to happen. youtube doesn't want to be tiktok. they make money from 10 minute watch time and mid-rolls, not from someone swiping past your 30 second short. the creators who spent the last two years building actual expertise and teaching it properly on long form are about to eat the ones who built 500k subs on faceless shorts channels are about to find out their business never existed educational long form is the only format youtube is structurally incentivised to keep paying well.
