My phone rang at 2:15am Saturday morning, I had just fallen asleep. "It’s your coordinator from the medical center. We may have a kidney for you. How soon can you get here?" I found the next flight at 6am. Flew half way across the country and took a taxi directly to the hospital. After some final tests they wheeled me into surgery. I can't begin to describe how good I already feel. After dialysis 4 days per week for over 2 years, the wait is finally over. The road to recovery is long but beats the hell out of the alternative. I am not cured of polycystic kidney disease, but I have a working kidney again. I am tremendously grateful to those who are organ donors whether living or now deceased like mine was. You really save lives. Thank you all that have provided prayers, kind words, and even offered up a kidney from half way across the world. Now, let's get this Pulsechain bull run fired up and hex to $3.69! I've got some medical bills coming my way!
