We need to be able to protect our protectors. Thank you to @Hon_DeStefano for introducing legislation in the NYS Assembly that would classify certain offenses against emergency medical services personnel, firefighters and law enforcement officers as a hate crimes. Certain people have chose to commit crimes against first responders solely based on the uniforms and badges worn. This should have bipartisan support.

Not only did LIPA OVERCHARGE customers TWICE totaling $367 MILLION while Dave Calone served on the LIPA Board of Trustees, but Calone voted to Raise Our Energy Rates MULTIPLE times! To make matters worse, RATEPAYERS were only given a PARTIAL REFUND of what LIPA overcharged us! It's not surprising that LIPA was also $10.1 BILLION in DEBT and had a NEGATIVE credit rating under Calone’s watch. As a result, Suffolk’s residents have been burdened by some of the highest energy bills in the nation. We can't trust Dave Calone!
