Elon, bro Here's a plan. If you're serious about this, that is. Call off these fluffers and paid praise singers. They are wrong, irritating, disrespectful, and they are doing your cause a lot of harm. Get on a plane, and come and sit down with the relevant authorities and decision makers. Here, in SA. Show respect, show us that we want to work with you. Record the meeting(s) if you worry about skullduggery. Bring the facts. Bring your arguments, stats, show us how everyone benefits. Address our security concerns, give us a few simple safety backups. Negotiate this like the businessman you are. You did not build your empire using the whiny victim model currently in play. If there are others pushing this current mess, bring them along. It will make everything easier. Walk back the harm of the last few months. Talk to us about business, and benefits, respectfully, as people that you want to do business with, not people that owe you a favour. There are just far too many big pieces missing in your current presentation. People have noticed, and doubling down on that, and adding anonymous X influencers really just don't do it for us. We are funny that way. That, or pack up your wares and leave. When a salesman gets a "no" he tries harder, or goes knocking on the next door. He doesn't insult and threaten the potential client. It's weird. And rude. One way or the other - decision time.

A lot of misinformation from legacy media about Starlink’s entry into South Africa. Here’s the truth 👇 • ❌ “Starlink wants to bypass B-BBEE” ✅ False — it supports transformation via EEIP, a legal framework already used by companies like Microsoft, IBM, and Amazon Web Services. • ❌ “Starlink is asking for special treatment” ✅ No — it’s asking for equal rules so ALL satellite operators can compete fairly. • ❌ “EEIP is less beneficial than equity deals” ✅ Reality — Starlink’s plan would connect 5,000 rural schools with FREE high-speed internet, impacting millions of students every year. • ❌ “It won’t create local impact” ✅ It will partner with local businesses, create jobs, and boost the economy (broadband growth = GDP growth). • ❌ “It will become a monopoly” ✅ Impossible — Starlink operates globally in a competitive market across 150+ countries. • ❌ “Security & privacy risks” ✅ It will fully comply with South African laws like every other country it operates in. • ❌ “Starlink is already operating illegally” ✅ Wrong — it is NOT operating because it is still waiting for a license.

@funkrat @vlok_andre @elonmusk @Starlink Starlink's competitors are looking to launch in SA in 2026/27 and NONE of them are going around insulting South Africa and its laws Amazon LEO has partnered with Vodacom and China's SpaceSail will most probably partner with a local company or happily come and negotiate an EEIP

High youth unemployment isn't just an economic crisis. It's a slow poison for democracy. When young people lose trust in the system, the system eventually loses legitimacy.

The state of this post. Digging up a post from 9 years ago. How do we reconcile with such forlorn individuals? Brother man; let me burst your bubble for you here: You are currently being colonised, nay, re-colonised; you’re not angry because not a single bullet has been fired. Snap out of it.

@pedoski8081 @Stephjd420 Your name is Padkos and you speak for all of them? I didn’t see 80% of the African population voting for you. Tsek, come back when you have a blue tick and a mandate.

South Africa is not obligated in any way to have Starlink whether it is free or not. You can’t be trusted with your technology so that is why they don’t want it.

Can I burst your bubble now? The abundance Elon talks about is clearly beyond your understanding; you are still thinking in terms of modern day economics and taxes and unfortunately you appear to have a poverty/scarcity mindset. There will be no need for elites not to share; because abundance is exactly that.

Okay ready for me to burst your bubble? If no one is working no government is collecting taxes in order to pay the citizens the Ubi. If companies do not have customers because no one is working they will go out of business because they cannot rely on the government which no longer has tax dollars in order to survive. They can trade the money they have now back and forth but they will never get more of it unless they steal it and they absolutely will do that. The people who have the resources and money now are not going to share them nor are they going to allow their resources to be commandeered by any tech company or government. The whole premise is absurd on its face. Think this through logically and critically. It is a dumb fantasy by people who will see you starve. The only difference between you and them is that they will not be starving in this utopia. They just think you're stupid enough not to figure that out.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. At no time, throughout all of recorded history, has there been any society, government, collective, which paid its citizens to do nothing yet reap some sort of reward for it. And in all cases where wealth was redistributed to such extremes as described here those societies utterly failed. Or, if they survived they became complete totalitarian dictatorships. In every case.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@Zigmanfreud Since what Elon is talking about has never been done. No-one can truly know how this will pan out; Elon’s approach is optimistic and yours is very pessimistic. Come, oh doompilled one, we may as well hold our heads high and enter the future with as much courage as we can muster.

The AI race is a lot like the nuclear arms race… Except we were smart enough with nuclear weapons to show everyone we won, and then effectively lock it away. With AI, because the economic incentives for elites are so perverse, we will stupidly allow the demise of society. 😡

This “Universal High Income” idea is SO catastrophically bad that it makes me question EVERYTHING about Elon Musk… This is unworkable, & would cause massive inflation, fundamentally destroying the incentive structure of our society (COVID Panic on steroids). I’d like to believe Elon has fallen for this idiocy because he simply doesn’t understand normal humans and he craves free time.

@elonmusk Not their fault Elon, in terms of economics the younger generation has experienced one economic shock after another. They aren’t blameless of-course; but Abundance and thriving is a metric most of them have no anchor for.

I love how they believe money spent by the government is just literally set on fire and disappears. If the government builds houses, invests in industries and infrastructure... this wealth then grows over time. A thing that short termist right wingers have no understanding of - its literally how we built modern Britain.
Rob Moore@robprogressive

The total wealth of UK billionaires is £772.8 billion If Labour took all of it, it would fund the country for around 7.8 months So are billionaires really the issue, or is it how money is being spent

The "Self-Made" myth of Elon Musk is ignoring structural reality. 📍When Musk attended Pretoria Boys High School it had 0% Black learners. 📍 The University: At University of Pretoria in 1989, he joined a campus of 30,000 whites that had JUST admitted its first 20 Black students. His "peer group" was a 99.9% statistical bubble. 💎 The Empire: His father, Errol, owned engineering firms, property, and shares in a Zambian emerald mine. They had so much cash they "couldn't close the safe." The Safety Net: While 80% of SA was trapped by Pass Laws, Musk’s family wealth & passport gave him a global exit strategy. He didn't just start at the 50m line; he was playing a different game on a different field. ⚖️ This is exactly why BBBEE exists today—to bridge the massive wealth and education gap created by centuries of systemic head starts like this. #ElonMusk #Apartheid #SouthAfrica
