@ianberriman The Venn diagram of diagonalist conspiracy nuts who fled Labour after Corbyn was given the boot and these twats will be a circle.

@ianberriman Plus I look forward to Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson's howls of outrage about this story...

Much as I loathe The Sun, to be fair to them, they did splash a cover on the Glasgow "Beastie House" rape gang way back in November 2023, when they were actually found guilty. (Or at least The Scottish Sun definitely did, I can't find the English edition)

@ianberriman Plus it does go to show that even a loathsome newspaper is worth a Hell of a lot more than some random posting on social media for reasons of their own...

@ianberriman Bad Blood is my favourite ever episode. When I rewatched recently I barely remembered Killswitch (I think I just dismissed it as silly) but it's amazing how well it's stood up. Plus I liked the symmetry of Kristin Lehman cropping up in Altered Carbon too!

Halfway into The X-Files season five and hit two crackers: William Gibson co-write “Killswitch” and a very funny vampire episode by Vince Gilligan. Why can’t it always be this good?

My resolution was not to bother putting “Hope you had a good festive break!” or any of that rubbish in a single work email.

@ianberriman I never rated it as much as other people tbh, but it looks great.

@garyacross I also remembered it being good but it's a bit shit. The whole thing has a whiff of Chris Carter going "People seem to really like these offbeat comedy episodes, maybe I should write one myself." And then not quite getting it.

X-Files marathon hit “The Post-modern Prometheus”, in which everyone is weirdly just fine about two women being drugged, raped and impregnated, and the mutant responsible is a sympathetic character. 🤷‍♂️

@ianberriman It was one of those 90s TV stories that seem morally dubious now to us Guardian-reading wokerati

@garyacross Y'know, you might be right... it was clear as mud. People definitely seemed to be weirdly ok with them being drugged and impregnated though. And it probably still passes the criminal definition of rape however it was achieved.

@ianberriman I keep saying this...if you only read posts by the people you follow and ignore all the shite underneath it, this site is still fine.

I still don’t understand the view of Twitter some people have. There can’t REALLY be people who still don’t know how to switch from “for me” to “following”, can there? Because I only really see right-wing views if I follow those people, or go into replies to have an argument.

@ianberriman I actually came back to 2 to be a completist. It's worth sticking with it because 3 is a definite uptick and 5 and 6 are both ace.

I think placing the ball outside the corner quadrant so that 0.1mm of it is overhanging the line might be the thing I hate most about modern football. IT IS UTTERLY POINTLESS. If I was a manager I would fine any of my players who did it a grand a time.

Been to two Hull City home games this week. At both the North Stand has conned the ref into getting a corner-taker to move the ball a millimetre by vociferous protests. I approve of this.

@ianberriman I was mopping the floor of The Custard Factory the day Cornershop was playing. When he saw I was doing it alone, he stopped and helped me.

Shrinkwrapped, mint reissue of the criminally underrated Cornershop's 2011 LP And The Double 'O' Groove Of... £10. I went to the pub with Tjinder once (long story). He seemed very nice. youtube.com/watch?v=V-S_pl…

Hull Minster is surely the most preposterous venue I’ve ever been to for a record fair. Spent £73.
