I literally had to lie and say I was trying for a baby to actually get my PCOS diagnosis even when I had explained ALL of my symptoms which are literally classic PCOS signals because unless I was trying to conceive, the doctor wouldn’t even do an ultrasound to check.

I'm not gonna lie, it is frustrating when you ask a patient what's wrong and they just give you a diagnosis. Like "I have a chest infection". OK, you're probably right but I need to know your symptoms to see if I agree with that diagnosis. I can't just take your word for it.

My dadi, who was 15 at the time of partition never wore this, neither did her sister even though they were very religious. These coverings for purdah varied from culture to culture and there was never one singular "correct" way of doing it
