@hmmerpwr "Follow me, he's right in here," the doctor showed her to the recovery room. "Meredith..." Benito mumbled.

@hostiledreamer4 “I—.. yes please .” Voice trembling, still unable to forgive herself for what had happened.

——-.. suppose she’s up , not even this head cold can keep her down .

@hmmerpwr "Do you want to see him?" A doctor asked, "Benito is in recovery now, he pulled through."

@hostiledreamer4 At some point they put her in a different room, taking all of the ruined clothing and giving her new ones after she showered. Though she began to pace the hallway, wanting to leave. All of her hard work possibly burned down.

@hmmerpwr After four hours, he was wheeled into a recovery room, groggy from the anesthesia but alive. He didn't know what to think, where he stood but he couldn't leave Meredith to deal with a situation that wasn't her fault. She didn't deserve this.

@hostiledreamer4 She eventually fell asleep in the chair , though deep down she’s thinking he no longer wanted to be with her. Not after being shot at . Maybe she messed everything up , ruining her own chances of being happy.

@hmmerpwr He couldn't comfort her, there was nothing he could say. She'd kept this all from him, most of it for his own good. So he didn't dragged in, but now he was. Whoever those men were destroyed her building, life, and shot him.

@hostiledreamer4 She wanted to go outside and get some fresh air, everything felt like it was falling apart again. History was repeating itself and she felt helpless at the moment, curled up in the chair. Unfortunately they weren’t allowed to leave the private hospital until later.

@hmmerpwr Silence, Benito had been where she is, not with a fire but with Jessica. He wanted to tell her, it's okay to feel all of it. That it will fade, he blamed himself for his fiancé dying. Unfortunately he needed surgery and was taken immediately as the Dr's looked over the scans.

@hostiledreamer4 She remained silent as they wheeled him off, tears finally rolling down her warm face. Still refusing to let anyone help her , upset and angry. Deciding to settle into one of the chairs , not caring that her clothes were ruined.

@hmmerpwr Benito gestured for them to stay away for now, soon arriving at the private hospital. "We need to examine him, see where the bullet is." "Will you be okay, Meredith? Don't run off, on me." He said as they unloaded him and wheeled him away.

@hostiledreamer4 “I’m fine —-..” She coughed a little bit , not wanting to be touched. Her attention solely on Benito and the paramedic who helped him.

@hmmerpwr "Check her out," Benito mumbled, as they worked on him, while the ambulance drove along. He knew they'd be safe soon, hopefully.

@hostiledreamer4 She hesitated for a moment, looking back at her vineyard. Frowning for a few moments before making her way into the ambulance. Carefully sitting next to one of the paramedics , wiping away the dirt from her face.

@hmmerpwr Benito nodded as the paramedics arrived, "We need to take him, Meredith," one said, his bare skin now bloody. Thankfully he hadn't put a shirt on yet. "Coming Meredith?" He asked, as they loaded him onto a stretcher.

@hostiledreamer4 Without saying anything, she’s flagging down the ambulance . Yet she continued to hold onto him a little bit longer. “I’ll tell him later on once we get to a secured location , it’s a private hospital.”

@hmmerpwr "No?" Benito mumbled, he was in pain, but more concerned about her, as she pressed a hand to her abdomen, keeping some pressure. "Okay, I trust you, Meredith. I'll follow your lead. Should we tell Lalo?"

@hostiledreamer4 “They won’t think you did this .. I have connections with them.” One of her hands gently pressed to his abdomen, trying to keep some pressure. “They’ll take us into protection, I promise. A few of them know what’s going on.”

@hmmerpwr "Where are we gonna go? I can't go far, I've been shot," a blood stain now on her shirt. "And you've got to get checked out." He knew they couldn't stay here, sirens were coming maybe they'd think he set the fire. A big bad cartel man.

@hostiledreamer4 —-.. “ Mumbling quietly as she tried to stay awake , coughing from the smoke . “We need to get out of here ..”

@hmmerpwr enough away. "Come on." He held her close. "Don't die on me."

@hmmerpwr A shot rang out from atop a building, hitting Benito right in the abdomen, blood dripping onto his shoes. "Meredith!" He shouted, she'd called out, he would get help too. He found her near the building, grabbing her. "Don't be dead, I can't do this again," he got her far +

@hmmerpwr A cough, here and there as he began moving some. He wanted to help save as much as he could, watching as she wondered in. "This is gonna attract attention, if it already hasn't."

@hostiledreamer4 She’s coughing here and there , still grabbing as many crates as she could. Not paying attention to what he was doing before making her way into the locked area. “Fuck ..” Struggling to see where the keypad had been.

@hmmerpwr He's soon reaching the source as he helped her drag the crates away while searching for men, checking every corner. "I've done this to someone," he mumbled, remembering the countless times he'd done the same thing for the cartel.

@hostiledreamer4 Still making her way towards the source of the fire, one of her buildings burning . Not caring about the flames , she’s running inside and trying to grab as many crates as she could. Dragging them out one by one , using the sleeve of the shirt as a face covering.

@hmmerpwr He could smell, a slight smokey odor from an open window as he followed her out the front door, silver gun loaded and tucked in his belt. "Meredith." He yelled out. Unsure if he should follow her. If these men were dangerous.

@hostiledreamer4 She barely caught his words , but she’s focused on her situation at the moment. Unaware of the smoke coming from the other side of her vineyard , though the yelling of her men caught her attention. “Shit —-..” Dropping her cellphone before running out the front door.

@hmmerpwr He's eating, but then his phone rings, it's business, not the bar but cartel. He's now swearing and yelling in Spanish, then transitions to English. "He's as good as fired, tonight I'll handle it." He hung up, hoping Lalo secured the other deal.

@hostiledreamer4 Already she’s slightly upset and angry with the business decisions. Talking with her free hand , pacing the balcony area. It’s bad enough she feels a little unwell .

@hmmerpwr "I'm glad you liked it, you'll be no doubt spoiled with more," he returned a kiss to her cheek. Once he had his plate, he heated it up before sitting down, staring out at her, and the pool.

@hostiledreamer4 “I absolutely loved it, it helped me get through the night.” Another kiss to his cheek before she walked out towards the balcony doors. Leaving them cracked open before making a business call.

@hmmerpwr "Not at all," he winked and began fixing himself a plate. "He made all my favorites. Lalo is such a good cook, how did you like it?"
