It's definitely true that my plugins have a lot more features than the official extensions they're looking at merging into core - that's why we built them in the first place!
But having similar features in core would still significantly reduce the market for my plugins because a big proportion of people would just accept the basic functionality of core rather than searching for a plugin. For example, if WooCommerce core contained a basic mechanism for setting min/max quantities then people are less likely to Google for more flexible ways of setting min/max quantities.

I hope that’s not the real list because it could kill 2 of my plugins which have combined revenue of $163k/year 😰
It’s important for WooCommerce to be a leading ecommerce platform, but blurring the lines between core and plugin territory does make it harder to build a secure business on top of. This is one reason why I need to diversify into other platforms and spread the risk, which was never needed before.

Apparently these have been discussed and updated internally for ~6 months and will be officially announced soon. Don't shoot the messenger 🤷♂️ ✅ Product Addons ✅ Product Bundles ✅ Gift Cards ✅ Min/Max Quantities ✅ Product Recommendations Personally, there's not one item in this list that doesn't make sense to me - which is why I've already built the Gift Cards for WooCommerce® (free) plugin. The products in the list are all things that would align Woo with what modern eCommerce platforms are providing (for free). I guess we'll see what happens 🤔 #WordPress

@KatieKeithBarn2 And at any moment a bunch of free plugins can appear out of the blue and offer the same exact features, whether they add those to the core or not. So you need to focus on how to keep selling yours: Up-selling, Cross-selling, Cash rewards and free stuff, like domains, mugs, etc.

It's called "competition", I mean, whether similar features are being added to the core for free or another company is offering the same plugin for a lower price, or even for free, you'd have the same exact challenge: How to stay relevant.
