There are things in this world that should never happen and yet, they are happening. This story sounds like fiction. But this is our life. Two and a half years ago, when the Israeli army entered Al Shifa Hospital, they took a number of newborn babies from the maternity ward. Newborns. They were separated from their mothers, from the only warmth they had ever known and sent to Egypt. Without names. Without families. Without anyone to claim them. They disappeared. For more than a year, there was no news. No answers. No certainty about whether they were even alive. Yesterday, some of them were returned. And I cannot stop thinking about one moment. A mother standing there.. trying to describe her child. Describing the face of a baby she had only known for less than a week. Trying to recognize her own son through memory alone. Through fragments. Through hope. Through pain. Then, suddenly.. he is in front of her. Alive. She breaks. A joy so overwhelming it almost looks like grief. And the child? He looks at her .. without recognition. Without memory. Without the instinct that should have guided him back to her arms. He does not know her !! And perhaps what is even more devastating he does not know what a mother is. What kind of world separates a child from his mother before he even learns her face? What kind of war steals not only lives, but the most basic human bonds? This is not just loss. This is something deeper. Something colder. Something that tears at the very meaning of being human. This .. is what hell looks like. #WoundedGaza

"Unlike you, I was out in the field. I gave an order to shoot a terrorist, with hands cuffed behind his back, in the head." Yesterday at the Knesset, Mickey Levy, a member of so-called "centrist" party Yesh Atid, tried to outflank Jewish Power members from the right, by describing how he ordered the cold-blooded murder of a handcuffed Palestinian, while serving as the Jerusalem District Commander of the Israeli Police during the Al-Aqsa Intifada. This event happened in 2002. Despite being a confessed murdered, Levy continued his career, became the Israeli Police attaché in the US, and later a Member of Knesset, Chairman of the State Audit Committee, Speaker of the Knesset, and Deputy Minister of Finance. Before serving as the Jerusalem District Police Commander, Levy also served as commander of the Judea and Samaria District. In the same year he ordered the murder of a handcuffed Palestinian, Levy received the "Knight for Quality Government" award from the Movement for Quality Government in Israel and the Channel 2 "Person of the Year" award.

El Gobierno de España condena la pena de muerte contra palestinos que acaba de aprobar el parlamento de Israel. Se trata de una medida asimétrica que no se aplicaría a los israelíes que cometieran los mismos delitos. Mismo crimen, distinta pena. Eso no es justicia. Es un paso más hacia el apartheid. El mundo no puede callar.

It used to be possible to live in a parallel reality in Israel in which the systematic persecution of Palestinians was hidden. The state was designed to hide oppression from those who didnt want to see it. The death penalty law is the latest nail in the coffin of that old world.

You lie, @MarkGoldfeder. The law is directed at Palestinians under occupation alone. It is triggered by a "conviction" stemming from a military court system that does not follow evidentiary and procedural laws. It is not triggered by conduct. You lie and gaslight.
Mark Goldfeder@MarkGoldfeder

False. The law establishes the death penalty for terrorists who carried out murderous attacks. It is triggered by conduct, not ethnicity The fact that you think it applies only to Palestinians speaks volumes. And stop quoting Specially Designated Global Terrorist organizations.

Israel has been carrying out summary executions for decades. But there is a thick new layer of darkness in ritualising murder as capital punishment. Exclusively for Palestinians (for now; give it a few years.) In military courts, rigged for 96% conviction. Dark, dark, dark day.

Was hoping this photo was not real. Sadly it is. This is the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset dressed up as "Death Penalty", holding a hanging noose. Her settler husband is holding a prop gun labeled "Occupation," an airplane labeled "Expulsion," and a house labeled "Settlement."
Muhammad Shehada@muhammadshehad2

🚨Israel just passed the death penalty law against Palestinians & non-Jews only. This is how the deputy head of Israel’s parliament celebrated with her settler husband celebrated recently.

NBC News exposes massive insider trading right before the Trump administration launched the Iran war. Elites pocketed millions with advance knowledge of military strikes while ordinary Americans suffer soaring gas prices and job losses. The corruption is staggering.

Such gaslighting. Convicted by whom? By Israeli military courts who famously disregard evidentiary and procedural rules for Palestinians? Courts that have never convicted a Jew of "terrorism"? Of course it's textbook apartheid highlighting the Israel is a genocidaire society.
