Then he marked the troop strength of every country along each border on that map. It challenged a lot of the assumptions I had been told about him. He has this extraordinary depth of knowledge about what’s happening in each of the agencies—my agency and the others—and he has an instinct for making good choices. I would also say this: I think my uncle, John Kennedy, understood the use of power better than any president before him. And I think Donald Trump understands the use of power better than probably any president we’ve had—at least since Roosevelt, and maybe in American history.

@Acyn Even if you think that, it's still your problem that other countries are suffering because of your war.

@Acyn Ukraine is the victim of a war and you're the aggressor. That's the difference.

@atrupar Iran has no problems with communications. The just let the world know that Trump is lying through his teeth.

@Acyn But you said the war was won. If you don't want a ceasefire, don't complain about the strait being closed.

Reporter: Lindsey Graham has asked for you to reconsider military bases in Spain, Germany --   Trump: Well, he's right about asking that. I think NATO has gone down a long way. They should be helping with the strait. They get much of their energy from the strait of hormuz, and if Lindsey graham said that, and don't forget, he was the big NATO guy for a while, and now he is not. A lot of senators and congressmen, they are very upset with the fact that NATO has done nothing.

@Acyn Does anyone beside Trump care about the damn ballroom? He should have been an interior designer and been done with it.

KUDLOW: China is the number one consumer of Iranian oil, so they have a huge stake in the Strait or Hormuz. Would they join the coalition to open the strait? We haven't had any luck with NATO GREER: I don't know if they'll join, but I agree with you. Our hope is they'll be cooperative

Q: Trump says other countries should step up to safeguard ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Why should other countries that were not consulted about this war now put their troops in harm's way? LEAVITT: Because these other countries are benefitting greatly from the US military taking out the threat of Iran
