@NewsWire_US It should be illegal to vote for the same party if you move from a state because of taxes/cost of living.

@Popular_EY @HQNewsNow Except the 14th Amendment was written by the Framers, it was written and passed by the Senate on June 8, 1866, and ratified two years later, on July 9, 1868

Justice Barrett appears skeptical of Trump's argument against birthright citizenship:
One thing that's puzzling me about your argument when I think about the ratification of the 14th Amendment, it would have made sense for them to say 'we'll make it all ride on parentage.' It also says 'born in the US.' I take it you are not arguing that US citizens who have children born abroad would qualify for birthright citizenship. If they were going to invent an entirely new kind of citizenship, like an American brand, why wouldn't we have seen more discussion of that in the debates?

@poppy4161 @JolinaJasmine Please read the decision! The decision was about a therapist’s practice in Colorado not a broad ruling on conversion therapy. I don’t condone conversion therapy, but the judges weren’t ruling whether conversion therapy should be legal or not, they were ruling on a specific CO law
English

@jgray23 @JolinaJasmine Conversion therapy isn't religion it's child abuse and torment, this isn't a free speech issue just a child abuse issue being brought religious sociopaths

There are 6 republicans and 3 Democrats on the Supreme Court. I wanted to know which of the democratic judges voted for this.
Pop Crave@PopCrave
The Supreme Court blocks Colorado’s plan to ban conversion therapy for minors. The ruling came in an 8–1 vote.

@JolinaJasmine reposting reply because @BobrickSloan was spamming my mentions and blocked me so I couldn’t reply
English

@JolinaJasmine The democratic justices joined the conservatives in this decision because the constitution is pretty clear about limiting freedom of speech/religion. There aren’t any explicit constitutional protections for sexuality and gender identity

@jgray23 @JolinaJasmine Thank you, typing fast and not paying attention will do that to ya lol

This is what happens when media tries to manufacture a moment out of nothing.
The Second Avenue Subway is a New York project…
run by the state…
managed by the MTA…
funded largely through local and state mechanisms with federal support layered in.
So asking a sitting president for an instant position on a hyper-specific NYC transit phase like it’s a national crisis…
That’s not serious journalism.
That’s a setup.
And when he says he hasn’t heard about it in 20 years…
That actually tells you something important:
This project has been dragging for decades…
billions over budget…
phased out endlessly…
and still incomplete.
That’s not a federal failure.
That’s a local management problem.
If New York wants infrastructure done…
look at Albany…
look at the MTA…
look at how the money is being spent.
Stop pretending every delayed subway line is a White House emergency.
Focus on the people actually responsible for building it.

One thing we can both agree on. Let’s get it done.
Spectrum News NY1@NY1
President Donald Trump on Tuesday called a question asked by Spectrum News about whether he supports the construction of the Second Avenue Subway a "far out question." The president said he hadn't heard about the Second Avenue Subway in "20 years." “I guess they got to get it finished," he said.
