@LonelyGoomba I've owned a Switch since 2017 and never played online. I don't intend on ever playing online on my Switch 2. Why do I need an internet connection to set it up? What is the internet connection doing for the console that can't already be on it?

I'm not being a Nintendo apologist but needing an Internet connection to set up the Switch 2 is such a non-issue. The fact is if you don't have access to Internet you're not playing like, 90% of modern games anyway at this point. It's just how it's been for decades.
