@johnsonreader3

Beta reader ✌️💜 I fall in love with characters before they’re fully coded as humans.📖

@Write_Herr That’s why many advancing scripts get a quick editorial polish, just to make sure nothing distracts from the story. Since BOOMERANGED is already moving forward, a little outside editing could help push it even further. Areyou planning for another pass on it before the next stage?

**I've** I should proofread before I hit submit because I refuse to pay a premium for the privilege to edit. lol.

I'm pretty much stopped entering competition and anything pay for play but at Christmas time I decided to enter the ISA fast track Fellowship and just discovered that my TV pilot BOOMERANGED made it to the next round, so yay me!

@Write_Herr Congratulations on BOOMERANGED making it to the next round. I smiled at the proofreading comment, many writers say the same thing. When you’ve been deep in a script for a while, it’s easy to miss small things.

Right, back to writing my current novel. There's a criminally insane murderer in my book, but he's under my control, so it's all gravy. 👍

@Alexa_M_Motten @MarkSowersBooks Finishing your first draft helps you stay connected to the story. At this stage, a beta reader can give fresh feedback on pacing, plot holes, and confusing scenes. After you revise it a bit, sharing it with a beta reader can really help improve the story. What genre is your book?

@MarkSowersBooks In fact, I just finished my first draft, and while I was writing it, a few more ideas came to me, and due to my lack of experience, I didn't risk starting to work on them, so as not to lose the connection with my first work

@dianebillas That’s very common for writers. Finishing a first draft often brings new ideas. Once you take some time away from it and revisit the story, that’s usually when writers begin looking for beta readers for fresh feedback. How do you feel about your first draft so far?

Me: "I'm taking a break from writing since I just finished the first draft of a book" Also me: "What if I start working on a sequel idea for a different book while I'm on a writing break..." 😅

@JeffSBrayAuthor That’s a really common discovery during revisions. Those bigger refinements can make a huge difference to the overall story. Fresh eyes can sometimes help spot what’s working and what needs strengthening. what kind of refinements are you planning?

Here we go, fellow writers/authors. Final read-through before publishing. I'm always excited to reach this point. But a certain fear hits too. It's the final time to make those last minute tweaks. My goal is to have this done by the end of next week.

I'm officially done with script #2😮‍💨 It's a bit long, but since it's just a sample of my writing ability, I'm finally gonna move on from this story after all these years... I learned a lot from it🥲 Time to pinpoint my main genre, write under one name, and create a new me...🥹

@velpurniawrites Wow, 1000+ notifications sounds intense! “Too formal” can be tricky, it depends on your characters and setting. Feedback should guide, not overwhelm. If you ever need another pair of eyes, I’d be happy to give practical notes that keep your voice intact.
