He was a soldier, a Senator and statesman. Most of all he was a Kansan. Rest In Peace dear friend.

God bless Bob Dole. We are a stronger, safer, kinder and more just nation because of Senator Dole. His lifetime will be forever immortalized in his sacrifice, service and courage on behalf of the American people. 98 years of a life well lived.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of fmr US Rep Dennis Moore today. Dennis was a good man who worked hard for the people of the Third District. His legacy of service to our community will be long remembered. My condolences to his wife @StepheneMooreKS and his entire family.

I’m proud to endorse @DerekSchmidtKS as the next Governor of the State of Kansas. I watched Derek’s strong leadership when we served together in the State Legislature and have admired his courage as our state’s Attorney General.

We went the old fashioned route and carried on our tradition of voting in person as a family. In spite of its flaws I still believe in our American system of democracy. We are proud to pass along these traditions and responsibilities to the next generation. Happy Election Day!

Brooke and I are heartbroken to hear of Mayor Copeland’s passing. He was a tremendous leader, and an even better man. Our community is stronger because of his work. We are keeping Maria and his children in our prayers.

He had a kind heart and soul and he was my friend. While we mourn his passing we are comforted in knowing that his contributions to mankind live on eternal. Godspeed Congressman.

We are terribly saddened to learn of the passing of our friend John Lewis. He was a legend in our time and I was honored to walk the halls of Congress with him. When you spoke with him, you felt connected to the battles he fought as history echoed from his words.

She will be missed by many and will be forever remembered for her legacy and the indelible impact she had on our community and nation.

During my time in Congress she was a mentor to me and I’m forever grateful for her friendship and guidance. Her campaign motto was “Jan Can” and she certainly could and certainly did.

I was saddened today to learn of the passing of my friend and former 3rd District U.S. Rep. Jan Meyers. Jan was pioneer in Kansas, the first woman elected to the U.S. House from the Sunflower State. She was kind, wise, discerning and compassionate.
