That's an interesting analogy, but it misses the core issue. The "maturity" stage in those long marriages often means stagnation, resentment, or silent endurance rather than actual fulfillment. People today see that and rightly want something better from the start, not just survival till the decline phase. Wisdom also includes refusing to repeat outdated models that didn't serve everyone.

Not every 30-year marriage is a success worth modelling. Plenty are just people staying together out of duty, kids, or lack of options, with zero joy or growth. Social media couples at least show the reality of modern expectations and incompatibility that our parents' generation often ignored or endured quietly. Dismissing valid fears as "no sense" ignores how times and people have changed.
