On the back 9 of rolling my own auth with @SurrealDB , @leptos_dev , and @actix_rs I've done auth before in Rails, Django, and React, but never in a Rust ecosystem. Given that context, in all, it's a few days of work if you've never done it before and really sat down and knocked it out. I have a day job and this is a hobby project, so it was more like 2 weeks. If you know the tooling ecosystem and having done it before with those tools, it would be much faster. SurrealDB makes it manageable with signup/signin methods and hashing algos. Pulled in a couple other libs for e-mailing. Anyone with half an ass in web dev experience and an LLM can put together the forms in no time. Leptos server fns makes backend easy. Stringing it all together is tricky, but doable. Got caught up with server libs getting pulled into WASM which aren't WASM compatible. Fortunately that wasn't my first rodeo and resolved that quickly thanks to cargo tree. Most importantly, there is no substitute for knowing and owning your system. The alpha in "time saved" using a mangaed solution vs owning your system, is, as so often seems to be the case, not worth it.
